I know it's subjective, but I still looking to quantify how much louder my 2006 will get if I remove the resonator. Is it any louder during normal/tame driving or when just cruising on the interstate? I already have a K&N in the stock airbox and don't plan to modify it at all.

And when people say they removed the resonator are they just talking about one part (number number 6 below)? Are do they mean parts 6, 20, and 21?

6, 20, and 21 all go bye-bye. I replaced 20 with a velocity stack, and it seemed to improve throttle response a little.

The only time you'll notice a significant difference is under heavy throttle, and it sounds great. During normal driving, there's more noise, but it's subtle.

Thanks! My 2006 TSX got in a wreck so I need a replacement resonator. I mentioned leaving it off to my wife (who also drives this car) and she didn't like the idea. So I was just trying to get a better idea to figure out if I wanted to really press the idea with her. If I can find a replacement resonator cheap I might just give up on leaving it off.

super late response. but I did remove that block of plastic. I used 9 and 21. Im running an 06 and it has a opening next to my fog light and it runs perfectly with it. I got lazy and it was 2 in the morning. I happen to have all the parts i used.
I fitted 9 and 21 so it angles from the open port next to my fog light. I put the Injen Hydro-shield over 21 to prevent water from entering my intake.

There is a huge increase in throttle response. The lag time is drastically down. I just need to retune the ECU and ligthen the flywheel and it should help increase my response even more.

But The noise is slightly louder at WOT and VTEC engagement but it actually sounds nice. Not too loud and not annoying. I can take pictures later this week when im free
