Sound System Question

I bought my TL Type S about a month ago and the previous owner had a after market Touch Screen system installed with Subs. He wanted to keep the subs so I just let him. He left all the wiring for the sub and amp installed the car as well. My question is that the factory sub doesn't work at all. What works is just the door speakers. What can I do to get the factory sub to work again? The touch screen system installed in the car is the Million Model # D2229. Thanks for reading and hopefully I can get some help on here

Getting the sub to work will depend on how that deck was installed in the first place. You'll have to check the connections at the factory amplifier, and behind the deck itself. If you're not familiar with wiring, or audio systems, I'd suggest taking it to an audio shop.

You will have to take the rca's going to the rear for the aftermarket sub and cut and splice them into the inputs for the factory amp (located behind the rear seat) You will also have to connect a switched power, power wire to the amps power to get it to work.

Well the previous owner kept on the existing RCA'S in the car. I found the connector from the factory amp and then spliced into the two wires that were needed for the factory sub to work with the RCA. From there I spliced the RCA from the head unit and then I proceeded to connect the two wires from the stock amp with the Spliced RCA wire. After some testing the Stock Bose Sub worked. It was a pretty simple process to be honest. I thought it was going to be harder than expected but thank god for Acurazine cause I found a thread about how to get a factory bose sub to work with aftermarket head unit.

Why god!! why would anyone want to use the underpowered OEM Sub!!!
Stick any 150 bucks worth of 12"sub/amp/box and it will blow away the POS Bose Sub... Shit you can even go cheaper with craigslist and online deals and still kick the living shit out of the OEM Sub.

Some people like my self uses my trunk for work and etc(like my kids stuff) It does the job and I'm not looking to be a teenage kid like I use to and have the best system in town. I just wanted to have some bass while listening to music in my car.

Some of us have wife´s which uses the trunk too when shopping and you know what? Unless you are ghetto installing 4 Subs for a 2K RMS Setups?
You can live with 1 good sub in the trunk... The TL Trunk is enormous already, I have stacked 500 bucks worth of groceries in my trunk with no issues.
