Cheap intake kit worth it?

I'm sure this has been posted before but i need to buy air intake hose. Instead of going to the junk yard or buying a new one for $40... I was wondering if a cheap air intake kit around the same price would be worth it and will it pass the smog inspection test?

I am considering these:

Universal 3 inch Cold Air Intake System Filter Kit Blue JDM | eBay

Speed by Spectre 8208 - Air Intake Kit | O'Reilly Auto Parts

Im not planning on keeping the car for to long either so i dont want to spend a lot. Thanks!

depends where you are for smog. if CA then intake would need a CARB sticker to be CARB legal.

WHy not just go to junkyard if you don't want to spend alot.. I can't see that OEM piece being any more than 30 bucks.. also post on the Black Market, I"m sure tons of people switched to CAI and would love to get rid of their OEM piece.

Idk how new this kit is but dc sports has a kit out now and it's really awesome fitment is perfect on my 02 tl-s and it's ceramic coated just like their headers. I got my kit for close to $180 but I work at a parts store so I got a pretty good discount. But there has to be sets around that price online. Well worth the money! Check it out!

The ccoupler it a very nice silcone interior for a tight grip and the ceramic coating on the outside is a gray color with flecks of silver. Looks sharp

Mount fits good and there is a factory bolt you remove to install the grommet. Feels solid

K&N compairable filter. Solid materials. Not over oiled with the same style coupler. Very happy with my purchas

Hey man that's totally the owners preference I just want people to know this option is out there and plus I like the idea that all my bolt on's are all dc sports. I personally didn't want to have parts from multiple companies and it just matches better. I'm actually looking for some hi temp paint to match the dc coating and painting the engine plastic covers. I think it would look sweet. It's my little sleeper/daily driver
