Virtual Dyno - Anyone use it?

Wow, great numbers! In terms of the weight, if I add 350 to my car my final numbers increase by 9.1%. I'm sure it won't be the same for every car though. Are those SAE corrected numbers? Whether they are or not, you are making some great power, man. I've never corrected them on the VDyno, honestly lol.
How do you like the E-tuning process?

I use the same road each time in the same direction because the gradient is never the same both ways. Unfortunately my laptop dies when not plugged in, so I usually just load 2 tunes onto the FlashPro, and have a 3rd uploaded on the car so I can compare 3 different tunes in ~1 hr. I usually compare 2-3, but I'm considering changing to a different stretch of road.
Are you guys doing 3rd or 4th gear logs? I do 3rd gear because I'm afraid to do 4th gear redline pulls. Doing ~85 is much safer than 115 (Final Drive).

I always do 3rd. While 4th is better for resolution of sampling data, 3rd works ok for the most part. I may do a 4th gear run to 100mph, but that leaves a good bit of rpm.
With your final drive though, I'd suggest 4th. You probably wind 3rd out so fast there probably isnt much data.

It's anything but slow, but I know what you mean, relative to a 120MPH car perhaps.
The benefit in using the higher gear is that you can better see the performance changes from the tune, even when they may be small.
You make a few passes on the revision, and it is input into Virtual dyno. Changes are made, you re-run. The more data you have on every pass, the better you can tell gains or losses from that change. That's why its important to use the same section of road, etc etc, keeping all the variables the same.
Virtual dyno is a great tool and makes things pretty. Before that, the airboy spreadsheet was how we tuned WRXs. Plug in the data log and it will graph HP, just like a dynojet. Dynojet is repeatable because it is a mass that never changes - like being on the same stretch of road every time.

VTEC is set at 4700 rpm, I am on cal 32.
I had 4 runs total, 2 runs on each cal. In those sets I did one heading west one heading east. I forget which set was thrown out, but one of the directions was junk. Sounds like you have a less than ideal area to log at, Thankfully I have plenty of area's I can log at that are nice, flat and not very travelled. E-tuning is a long process and I think it's a lot of fun. But... it can be a pain and time consuming, especially if you are switching back to the base map all the time.
All my pulls are in 3rd gear. I could do 4th gear but if I got caught...I wouldn't be able to drive my TL for a while!
But officer.... I get better data at those speeds
Are you sure he didn't want you to do the back to back logs in the same direction? I've had to do that three different times, and he was adamant that the road be perfectly smooth, straight and that I start in the exact same spot each time, going in the same direction. PITA, since the best place I can find for that is a 4 lane divided highway, about 20 minutes from home (if I lived in Kansas or Nevada, this shit would be easier) and I always have to pull over and wait for traffic to clear, even at one in the morning. Plus it's a pita to have to find a place to reflash and then go back to the exact same spot and do it over.
And yeah, what is your Vtec point? I'm still at 4750.

I'd go priority. I'm on #20 and I started late August. First cal was bad though, then Labor Day weekend hit, so I started with my first log like 9/1 or 9/2. One week we knocked out four in a row, then one or two weeks it was only 1-2 new cals per week. I was slow getting a couple WOT "back to back" logs to him, as I was scouting a good spot. One night I got a cal at midnight, had the log back to him by 1 AM and he sent me another around 2 AM. It's totally sporadic, which is fine if you're not in a big hurry.
IDK if mine is done, but I got this with the above posted dyno last night?

One thing I recommend, is running one of the base maps on the Flashpro while you're tuning. I ran the modded base TL map at all times, except when I was data logging. This will help, since some of the maps will be doggy. I did a 20 minute log on the modded base map and had no knocks. WOT AFR was ~ 12.30-12.60, so not quite optimal for max power.
Tonight I loaded map 20 and went out for a drive. A 7G Maxima driver decided he wanted to get frisky. He got his feelings hurt pretty badly from 60-95 ish and made a hasty exit off the freeway. Car is running strong and smooth.

^ definitely an error on my part. Hopefully I can find a new location to do a quick run tomorrow and have better results. I am hoping for that 280-300whp.
Also good luck on your dyno tomorrow Dom!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded Virtual Dyno and figured out how to convert my logs to csv files, but I can't get the "custom" file for my car converted. I uploaded a log as a 335i and it showed me making a little over 4,000 whp and 3,200 ft lbs. Lol, wtf?

^ go to C:-> User -> Apps -> local roaming -> virtual dyno -> Custom cars -> (cut) -> go back and click on cars -> in cars go under BMW and create a new folder "i.e 335i and paste your data). Let me know if you need me to make a new video.
Also I found out why my car spike during that run. The tires slipped when I was crossing the bridge.

Got my cutout on....sounds nuts lol. It's welded directly to the end of my 3" Collector so there is NO obstruction whatsoever. I should have a VDyno comparing my stock exhaust with its respective map and the 3" cutout Revision 1 up tonight.
I did 1 log with the cutout open but it is untuned so the AFRs aren't dialed in. I still lose a lot of power after 6600 RPM though, which I wasn't expecting. Almost 20hp/40tq. Again, this is untuned, but I don't expect to gain much more up top. I may have to revise my shift points to 6800 rather than 7200 if this stays true. That could explain my lack of trap with the stock exhaust (I was losing 20hp/40tq up top with the stock exhaust as well, which could've cost me 1-2mph IMO).
There is also a speedo vid to see how it sounds. Don't forget, the speedometer is off so this run is ~30-78.

Sonnick, get to the track before it's too late! If it's got to be on street tires, so be it. Between the gears and Flashpro, I think you have 107-108 mph potential in normal DA. I think Island is running on Black Friday.
I ended up missing out this fall since the last couple Test and Tunes got rained out, and now if I do cams this winter, I won't know what the tune was good for. It is "seat of the pants" quicker with the tune and another 75 lbs out, so I know it's good for 104, but I really wanted a pre-cam baseline.

^ Gonna try and go ASAP man.
Now that I've had the cutout for a week or so, Dom was able to do 2 revisions (I've been a little slow getting logs, he really is the best ). I haven't uploaded his latest revision yet, but check out these Open Cutout gains...Now, this is NOT on the same night, but on the same road and using the SAE correction based on the weather from my DragTimes App.
Peak gains of 19whp/9wtq! Not only that, but 30whp/20wtq at redline! My stock exhaust has been diving off at redline in both hp & tq, so this is a nice breath of fresh air. I can't wait to see how she runs! Thanks Dom!
