Kinda yes. I'm an Air Force WSO (weapon system officer ) trainee. So I am in the Guy in the back of the F15 who handles all the weapons, comms, etc. But we get a lot of stick time too, its a blast.

Wow. That deserves another "Awesome".

I always did wonder why you had the "Air Force" printed on your car. Now I know.

it's not the 5-7 miles per minute or the 7G's I get at work but I know most here would love to have a go in the Elegant Aggressor. Definitely not boring though! lol

Yep Yep that'd be why. I posted a pic of the first plane I was flying a while back if you didn't see it.

Thanks a million guys!

Hear, hear

Imagine my daily joy that I get from mine. While driving, I refuse to talk on the phone, no beverages, nothing but my iPod. The car is too responsive and requires full alertness and attention.

Thanks to apnorm, I am finally ditching the stock battery. Though relocated to the front right side of the trunk area, right over the rear wheels, it was still a pig and was on it's last legs anyways. So let the quick pics doing the talking.

Alright your 23 yrs old. A WSO. You either graduated the Air Force Academy or did ROTC. You probably about to make 1LT but I know that CPT is not easy to get in the Air Force especially with the Air Force trying to downsize. Pretty impressive thread. Wish my fat ass TL was on a diet. Im an 11A in Iraq right now.

Im could be totally wrong and you just put a bullshit age up there. Just took a guess.

I am 23, did ROTC, almost to 1LT, Capt isn't the tough one it's Major for the AF, but yeah we are downsizing like crazy. You've got it about right for just taking a wag at it lol. Thanks for the compliments and it's been a blast to build this especially being able to do while on active duty when we all know how busy we the military are these days.

Hurry home bro and start your diet! lol

I am definitely looking forward to your review of this after your next track event. It will be noticeable.

Seeing that your car is a track car, you will probably be putting the small batt on a charger fairly often.

I don't know how true it is regarding the 15-Lb Braille but on my little 11.5-Lb Braille, a person needs to be careful to charge it at no higher than 2-AMP rate.

The Braille site makes hints that their charger is “special” and hinting that the Braille battery needs their “special” charger.

I don’t believe that the Braille battery needs a special charger. The car will be charging it like any other battery. So, why would I need anything different than a normal battery charger?

For the past 4 years, I have used a “Schumacher Speed Charge Model 600A” that I purchased from Walmart. I have used it a lot. Works great and highly recommend this charger to anyone purchasing a Braille battery.

Please note that this Schumacher charger offers three charging modes or amperages. I have always used the 2-Amp charging rate when charging or trickle charging my small Braille battery. It functions as a trickle charger too.

I would assume any high quality charger would work ok. However, just be sure that the charger is able to charge at a 2-Amp rate. I would not recommend using a quick or fast charging rate, which outputs higher than 2 amps, on the small Braille battery.

The Schumacher’s web site is http://www.batterychargers.com

Walmart sells the Schumacher little chargers for approx $30.

Doing a Google, I see that it can be purchased online too from many sites, including Amazon.

The need for special charging is correct. The Braille is an AGM battery, that is "absorbed glass mat". A slow rate is needed or it will overheat as it contains no liquid, but rather a gel like contents.

Brake Duct Update

Got one side of the brake ducts pretty much wraped up today. Definitely had to rethink the whole mounting situation from what I had planned. There just wasn't room to fit the bracket the way I wanted to so I had modify the strategy on the fly, it sucked because I wasn't able to have the air blowing on the center of the rotor like I wanted to. The biggest problem was the hard line for the caliper. Just couldn't get it in there any way so that it would clear that line with the wheels turned full lock either direction. So I mounted it off of the lower caliper bolt and the air is directed right at the side of the rotor with a section cut out on the top to at least try and get some air into the veins of the rotor.

It was getting dark but I snapped some pics quick for you guys.

Thanks man, and yeah..... it does FLY! lol The ducting is able to compress and bend so it'll follow the suspension up and down and the steering left/right no problem at all.

I wanted to ask you if your side view mirrors block your view of the apexes when driving with the bucket seats? I put a bucket seat in my 03 cl and with the lowered head position now the side view mirrors block too much of my view. I am gonna look into fitting some aftermarket ones.

Well yeah the sitting position is a lot lower but I've not had a problem with that. But you "shouldn't" be looking that close to the car while on the track anyways. If you're trying to hit an apex when your car is more or less AT the apex, it's too late and you've probably already screwed up the exit. You should always be looking as far a head as possible and by doing that you'll naturally setup corner entry, apex, and exit 99% more correctly than if you're hunting each one down with your eyes as your hitting them.

I see what your say and yes it takes some getting used to being that low when the stock seats are like a frickin birds eye view of the track. lol But if you think about modifying your driving style a bit and looking further forward on track and being more fluid, I promise it'll all work out in the end and you'll be much faster as a result.

I too have been looking into different mirrors cuz our stock mirrors are pretty large and I really have no need for a heated, power, dipping mirror anymore.

That help?

Edit: Another important thing to learn for ALL driving is learning where your wheels are at all times. I just drove a friends SC'd vette down a cornery back road with some curbs/dirt on the shoulder and he kept saying "If you curb my brand new powder coated wheels I'm gonna kill you" lol But I knew I wasn't cuz the first thing I did in the car was test/find out visually where the right/left wheels were by feeling just as either hit the shoulder and remembering that image so from then on I knew exactly how much room I had on either side of the car at any moment. Really helps you know just how close you are to an apex without actually needing to "see" it so to speak.

Just another thought for you.

I see what you are saying, but my reference was from street driving using the bucket seat. A specific situation would be taking a left hand turn at a light. The mirror blocks the other car in the other left turn lane and the yellow line. The other car could be creeping forward etc so you cant just go by on memory of where your wheels are really. Some other situations like driving in parking lots, parking etc.

I am gonna make a block off plate and attach the APR universal cf mirrors I think.

Well I did almost zero street driving with my seats in but I don't think it would have been an issue for me. Maybe it's your height? Who knows but I was thinking of doing the same thing with my mirrors. Would lose some weight too!

Vill0169, why did you choose the single ball joint for front camber adjustment versus a full a-arm replacement like what Skunk2 sells?

I haven't really noticed my mirrors blocking my view while turning. But, those A-Columns are murder (almost literally). And, I sit about four inches lower than the lowest OEM position.
