there is a difference of maybe 3-6hp between the HFC's and PCD's.
you cannot tell teh difference between 3hp.

I just bought and installed Richie's v3 PCD's and if i had to do it over again, I'd do the HFC.
Even on stock exhaust, the PCD's RASP really bad.
will have to weld in a resonator to fix the problem.....but if i had the HFC's, they would be perfect right out of the box.

This is the exact same setup I want but I want to see the sound outcome before I actually purchase it. Make sure you post some videos.

Cat back exhaust diameter answer

hey guys,

I don't know if you have ever saw that table on the magnaflow website.

ENGINE SIZE HORSEPOWER MUFFLER INLET/OUTLET
--------------------------Single Exhaust ----Dual Exhaust

250-300 CID 150 to 250 -----------2-1/2" to 3"----- 2" to 2-1/2"
300-350 CID
200 to 350 -----------2-1/2" to 3"---- 2-1/4" to 2-1/2"
350-400 CID
250 to 550------------ 3" to 4" ------- 2-1/2" to 3"

if we follow that table, we should go with an 3'' cat back since we will more likely hit the 300-325(engine HP) with just PCD, J-pipe, CAI and a good porting.

Just an additional comment; all our XLR8 exhaust system now include Purge Resonance Technology in the mufflers in order to reduce drone, which is very common on aftermarket TL exhausts.

I'm pretty much doing the same setup, except different j pipe

hfpc>atlp v2 j pipe w/ hfc>atlp base exhaust resonated

Was gonna go with rv6 jpipe but I hear rv6 v3 j pipe + atlp exhaust = more rasp. Don't want to be too loud. Plus didn't want to deal with issues not having a 3rd cat come time for inspection.

Anyway can any experts out there chime in on my setup? Am I doing anything counterintuitive?

I just had the rv6 v3 jpipe and non resonanted ATLP quads and there wasn't rasp or should I say anything loud or obnoxious. Although the drone is something else. It would shake anything I had in the cup holders, make passengers talk louder, and obviously had to turn the radio up louder.

I did notice after I sold my Jpipe and CAI and had just the ATLPs it was much more tame in all aspecs. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! The power/torque was amazing and soooo worth it!

True about the power/torque increase...but won't I get similar if not the same resuts using a atlp j pipe with hfc? I'm sure the performance gains can't be THAT much greater on the rv6 jpipe. From what I gather, atlp jpipe w/ hfc = less loud and good power gains, rv6 j pipe = louder and better power gains. So if I'm sacrificing a little bit of gain for a little tamer sound, plus keep my 3rd cat, then for me that's the best choice. For someone who only cares about power, the rv6 would be the best choice. Am I making any sense here?
