The bell housing is different on the 04-06 and half of 07 I believe.

just buy the belt housing and swap all your stuff over if you really want to do it. that's what that guy on k20a did with his j35 swap in a tsx. Swapped all the internals from a 3.2tl tranney into a j35 belt housing.

Will you take a picture of the transmission mounting pad on the back of the block?

I'm pretty sure that this engine is a 2G J-series block (has same trans mounting as 1G, close-coupled cats, and crank sensor behind TB cover) and will bolt up, but you'd be giving up the higher compression ratio of your j32a3 (11.0:1 vs. 10.0:1) for a little more low-end torque. It might be a good choice for a TC/SC application.

Hate to bump a super old thread, but would rather do that than ask the same thing over again. Was this ever determined if it has the same bellhousing pattern?

The part number is the same between the J32A3 and the J35A6/7, except for the letters, which is what vehicle they came in originally.

11000-XXX-810

I know the A7 has piston oil squirters which would be nice to have, and the lower CR for FI.

The other question is in regards to the sleeves. I saw speculation that they may be FRM instead of steel sleeves? Any truth or verification? I know people don't like FRM sleeves in a FI scenario, but I think Mahle makes specific pistons for FRM sleeves.

The blocks have the same bolt pattern, no worries.

Also, I've heard rumors about some of the j30's having FRM sleeves but I don't believe any of the larger j-series engines (j32 and larger) were ever manufactured with FRM sleeves. As a matter of fact, other than the j37 that had aluminum cylinder walls, all other j-series were produced with iron lined sleeves.
