I think you zip tie the vacuum lines and use the side mount for the ground.

if you dont plan on ever putting the oem mounts back in the car then just pull out all the vacuum lines, take that little vacuum module off the back of the intake manifold and put a little rubber cap over the nipple on the manifold.

If you want to keep the lines then use zip ties to seal them and make sure they are tight so you dont have a vacuum leak.

As far as the ground cable is concerned for the side mount, install it the same way it originally was in the new mount

to be honest I thought the engine sat lower.....

a lot of people on the forum installed the MDX spacer (had stock mounts) and had to cut their hood in order to have the spacer fit but I installed it and didnt have to cut anything....

IM mounts update;

My mounts just recently busted! I have the 65A, I believe. havent removed them yet, but judging by visual, the rear mount looks like its sagging, front mount bolt that connects to motor is missing, (most likely broken off), and both side mount bolts broke off clean. The engine seems to be sitting like 3/4 inch lower right now...sucks.
I noticed something wasnt right when I started feeling some erratic and heavy vibration, (heavier than normal) and when starting, the engine will jolt pretty bad.
Back to the lab again....and I just recently took the s/c off for battery replacement, now this.
I hear there's a significant reliability issue with these? Sorry, but I havent kept up with the reading. What other options are out there, if any?

just did some reading....looks like the best thing for me to do is go to IM for warranty exchange and upgrade to 75A. According to Exelerate's HP guidelines, I should've picked those up in the first place.

Scott,
I see you upgraded to 85A last year? How those holding up?

75A is good enough until 350-400hp....now if your gonna throw a turbo in her and or track her, go 85A....

Scott hasn't been on the board in a while. I would WW a stock mount for the side.

What are the chances of me seeing this thread? The 85A's were holding up well, but my ride was very...unluxury. I didn't mind at all.

But, you know I'm a track addict.

Thanks, bro! I'm still scared to do Orochon Special #2 again...unless someone pays me $500.

I'll hit up the APC thread again sometime...been busy the last several months.

Well, if the Innovative mounts aren't working out for some of you anymore feel free to check out our XLR8 mounts. Our bushings have a much larger surface area and therefore 75A should be the most anyone needs.

Yeah, too bad I haven't made it. I still wanna go, but kinda scared of blowing something up and putting a dent on my finances. Got too many other priorities going on now. You sound like u got rid of the TL? I know u talked about it, but what's the scoop?

So here's the status on my bushings....done! :

Took only like 90 min to pull them out, no broken hardware to drill out from the front mount, like I suspected, didn't have to pull the blower out (yaaAAaaY!!!) And Innovative has the 75A's ready to go. They say they will replace all bushings and broken hardware, no prob.

okay how do you do the warranty claim? Do you need to be the original owner, and /or have the receipt?

Ownership and receipts don't matter. they are warranted for life. As long as the mount bushings say "innovative" on them, they'll swap them out for ya. They are in Anaheim, so I just drove up with bushing assemblies and broken bolts and they swapped out the bushings (upgraded to 75A) in 5 minutes. The hardware they gave me wasn't great (grade 8.8, no flange) but I can get em somewhere else. They're super nice people, no questions asked. Give them a call, I'm sure you can ship or make other arrangements.

^^^ think you should....even if they are 60A and you wanna go for 75A, use the 60A for a while and as they donut, order the 75A replace the 60A with 75A....ship the 60A back to Innovative and get your money back (what you paid for new 75A bushings)

Just recently installed my new replacement 75A's.....so far so good. Vibration is not as bad as I thought. Just slightly more vibration than the old 60A's, IMO. Not to mention these have yet to break-in. Hopefully they last longer.

mrlunecy congrats on the new mounts bro. im here waiting for the review on the innovative 75A mounts since im ordering a set soon so im debating if to go with innovative or xcelerate 75A. I previously had the 62A in my old 05 A/T TL and since it was auto the vibration was pretty shaky when coming to a complete stop. Now since im 6mt vibration at a stop would not really be any concern and as far as HP goals if u might ask what kind of setup so i do it once and right the first time im aiming for 340+ might stay N/A running meth and nitrous.......

I moved it to a spot behind the power steering pump. I had a long ground cable laying around that I used.

How bad was the vibration with that much wear?
