Don't know if I am posting on the right place ,I have a 07 type s tl with atlp cat back third cat delete atlp jpipe rv6 hfpc 3.7 tl manifold and tb vittuned 276hp .
Like a hour ago I was on the highway and a camaro ss come close to me like 2 feet away from my rear bumper I was doing 70 mph cruise control so I down shift to 3rd and took off the camaro coming behind me I shift to 4 th at 108 then at 130mph the camaro move to the next lene for the kill now we are side to side I put 5th gear at like 135 but the camaro is not moving In 5th gear felt like my car hit a stop sign at 5500rpm and it just stay there but the speed was going up at 140 I was moving foward and at 145 I had a full car on the camaro.

My question? How is tha possible 276 hp tls auto beat a 426hp camaro ss

plus, if you werent tuned and your limiter was set to the 130 stock limiter....you'd be in the same boat as he.

Camaro curb weight is at 3,750 - 3,860

You have the advantage by a few 300 lbs lighter.

My rental SS at Miami saw 160 and it's Auto

TL is quick, well mine is, didn't have the enough fun with SS when you compare the quickness of the car. Blame it's stupid auto idk
But it was fast, no end

I had so many runs with one black G37s coupe on those straight Miami highways. Was at night and heading back to Orlando.

I had 2 people in my car, I was pulling way faster than him
BUT!!! You have to get the gears/speed right
Starting off from low gear was slow

G37 followed pretty well too, but then I noticed that my A/C was on as well

He was one person inside the car. I know because we even talked while driving, it's a 2 lane, empty road at night, and he was heading to airport too

Maybe the SS had a rear gear swap. Not sure what axle ratio they have stock but it's not uncommon to swap it so it's quicker off the line but has less top end. My Impala SS came with a 3.08 axle, used to climb like nothing 120+, swapped to 4.10 and it roasts the tires but falls on its face over 100.

So you were doing 145mph down a public road?

If you get caught doing that speed, you'll lose your license, have your car impounded and do up to 90 days in jail.

If you have an accident doing that speed you'll lose your car, probably your life, and maybe kill some innocent person. This is assuming that you are not a trained race driver, because someone who actually races knows better than to do it on a public highway. No wonder insurance is so much.

Saying that, it would have been a rush I bet.

Not necessarily. Check YouTube for v6 accord vs camaro ss. He does pull that fast on a stock 6spd. Add another 50whp and nearly all of that pull is stopped.

I rented a 2013 SS Auto Camaro from Hertz to take a trip from San Antonio to Houston. I can tell you first hand, the Camaro would kick a TLS ass all over the place, unless forced induced/ or extreme diet. There really is no comparison. I hit 140 in the SS easy, and slowed down only because I came along some traffic (had about 2 miles to myself)

simply put, he has WAAAY more steam than I do.
I can be flooring it at 80-100mph, and he'll pass me up with ease.

50whp over stock accord v6 which is about 270whp. Op has 276. If he were to weigh less that camaro would have a handful. Dontbmistake torque for acceleration. It doesn't work like that. Us Honda and Acura guys should know that. Hp and weight determines acceleration.

Stock camaro ss run on avaerage 8.8-9.2 1/8th at 85-86mph. Before polished zdx, tb PnP manifold, deleted ac and ps I ran a best of 9.0 @ 82.5 with a 2.27 60'. No doubt I can run high mid 8's now at 84+.
