I do see Andy post occasionally but I think he's out straight and not doing NA.

I owe Anil a quick look see at his logs and I think he has the most recent hands on with the MS3. I'm currently making 8hr road trips so even my build project is taking a back seat.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks. I just finished looking at this whole thread. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody... i'll plug mine in this week and atleast see if it starts. I know andy had fixed the surging issue after the ECU was sent out so maybe i'll ask him to take a look at the msq. he's pretty busy tho. I saw the Rotrex s/c and 2015's list of things to do over at VsixP... i just want the car to atleast run right. not being able to go over 5K and running so rich just robs all the power out of the car.
Maybe you can take a look at it yourself if you have time.. thanks.

There's a MS3 in the BM in your price range.

The unit itself is fairly cheap but factor in the harness building and you end up with this price.

The real question is, why do you need it?

Unless you are a trust fund baby, I can't imagine a 21yr old could afford what it takes to get serious HP numbers out of these cars. Nothing against your age, I'm just saying.

I could buy a new entry level car for the money I have put into this one car.

alright, so I'll be the first to say I didnt READ all 76 Pages! but I hooked my MS3 up to 2006 5AT, plugged battery in, turned key to acc, then off, then to acc then off, then tried to start it.

the car started but you had to keep the gas mid way for it to stay on and not cut out. FLOODED the hell out of it. you could totally smell it.

I tried with all A-E plugged in. then went to A,B,C,E (no D) and it wouldnt start.

Any tips? or just need a tune?

What harness did you end up with?

Do you know anything about the tune that is currently loaded? I would start by looking at the required fuel setting. Sounds like it's way off.

You'll find, unless you are Andy, that idle will be unstable. I think everyone had issues with it, I know I did. Was the worst part of this solution. Andy said he set the lower end of the map with a finer resolution. I was just getting to understand the fuel maps when Hondata came out with something and I immediately moved to it.

Yeah, the Map on it is from a supercharged car so much more demand. Im hooking up the Vacuum line as well as the AFR to do a self tune. hope that helps.

Not always. Things are MAP based and even FI applications have lower map requirements. But if things like injectors were different on the previous application, it would mess things up.

Auto tune wasn't very helpful unless you narrow down the range. It just can't do a magical tune across the board.

Read the manual, the first thing it says is to get a decent idle. If you don't have at least a somewhat good idle, you'll be chasing your tail.

Yeah, I have a 2006 5AT so I am stuck with this or nothing and I need something.

I'm working with Rodney to get it dialed in so hopefully that will help a little. we will see.
