You get what you pay for. If you pay cheap, the prep work might be junk, resulting in junk paint. Paint adhesion may suffer (careful with a pressure washer!). Excessive chipping may occur. Etc, etc.

Drifting
At $300 its hard for a legal shop to make a profit. Here are some numbers, they don't really add up.
Bumper labor hours @ $50.00 a hour (unrealistic).
Remove/install 1.5
Painting 2.5
Primer .5 or strip and primer 1.5 (paint peeling)
Materials - 20% of labor rate. (5 hours = $50 in materials)
Color match .5.
Add up what you need to do and thats your total.
Keep in mind there are Haz Mat disposal fees, insurance, misc.
If you bring it to a cheap ($) place, they have to use cheap materials to keep cost down. Paint will look go for about a year then after it will either peel and/or die-back (not shiny). Get what you paid for.
