Anyone here from Long Island (dealer experience)

Does anyone from here live on or near Long Island? Just wondering if anyone has had dealer experience with Rallye Acura. Thanks

Long Island Acura

I bought my TL-S from Smithtown Acura. Very easy to deal with...no problems with delivery....kind of low-key, no-frills dealership if you know what you want and don't want to be bothered by the hard sell of service agrrements and extras, they are a good place to do business.

I got my 06 from Rallye. They're no nonsense and easy to deal with. When I purchased my car, they gave me a better deal through their internet dept. I would check prices for both before going in.

Smith town was very courteous and helpful, I was greeted warmly and received good service. Valley Stream Acura's service dept wasn't the best, but the techs were very nice. If you get any servicing, tell them to not put on those plastic plate things. FYI, it was valley stream acura that crashed one of the members TL's here during a service run of the tranny.

I didn't buy my Tl at any dealer on LI, but I did look there. I am in CT but Li is very close and my GF is from sayville, so I hit up the dealers while there. They were all right around the prices here in CT, maybe a little cheaper - but what i ended up doing was looking in Near by NJ. WELL WORTHE THR SHORT DRIVE - every car i looked at in NJ was about 3k less then in LI or CT right off the bat before even dickering. When the dealer ( DCH ) saw i was from CT he said so many out of state people have been buying in NJ, i'm thinking there is WAY more competition there and the prices def reflect that, they also had way more inventory on the lots as well.....def worth a shot...look online and you should see the priced diff's - good luck.

I bought mine from Island Acura in Wantagh. Overall a good expierience can't complain. I don't think it matters where you go, car salesmen are car salesmen no matter what.

I did shop around between Rallye & Valley Stream, in the end I just went with Island since it was nearby where I live.

I bought at Rallye and had a very positive experience. I got internet quotes from both Rallye and Valley Stream and they were very close pricewise. Rallye was able to get the color I wanted quicker so I went with them.

I also use Rallye's service dept. So far I've only needed routine service and have gotten good service there.

If you end up buying from them, when you make a service appointment mention that you're a customer and you'll get an immediate appointment. If you're not a customer they make you wait a month for service.

Whatever you do, DON'T BUY FROM PARAGON IN QUEENS!

Why Not? I've heard that alot actually, but I purchased mine from there and didn't really have that many issues. Stright phone sale, gave me the best lease price and terms, no other dealer could even come close to it or believe it. Gave him a deposit over the phone and then paid the rest the next day and took delivery.

The only qualm was the wait time while taking delivery, it took a very long time for some reason, and not to mention they tried hard to push alarm, lojack, etching, licking, sucking, all sorts of nonsense. But other than that, I can't complain cuz when I get my monthly statements that's what really matters.

Valley Stream Service Dept. imo is horrible, I wouldn't recommend anyone going there, the only reason I did was cuz I signed up for their lifetime oil changes, this was for my previous TL.

I went to Rallye in 2012 to price a TL 6MT. Now, MT cars are a different animal because most dealers never have more than one or two in stock. But back in 2012, I saved over $2000 by buying from Curry Acura rather than Rallye. Rallye wouldn't even come close to Curry's price. They basically would only go slightly below the window sticker price. Now, however, I am considering buying an MDX from Rallye because my wife does not want to travel to Westchester to buy a car. (we live near Rallye.)

in fairness to Rallye, they don't discount much on purchases, but their service department isn't too bad.
