What happened to Vettel in Montreal had zero to do with anything Kimi did. Besides, Seb was 4-5 seconds back from Kimi at the finish.

Its a lug nut eat lug nut world out there
Lewis's clutch obviously misbehaved during the start, but not to the point he couldn't recover.
PS. nice to see a Honda on top of a Ferrari

Glad Alonso and Kimi are OK, this time Alonso was on top at least. Coulda been much worst.
Also impressed how composed Vettel was in post-race interviews. Second race in a row where his pit stop got messed up costing him a position.
Nice to see a Williams on the podium, 2 races in a row.
Kimi looks like he'll be retiring at the end of 2015.

Can you imagine how pissed off Marchionne and Arrivabene are? 2 GP's in a row thrown away after spending tokens to make their power unit better. Unbelievable. Kimi's failure to make it past Q1 is the team's fault but his driving in the race is all his.

Lewis's clutch: clutch hiccup was audible during the start. Sounded like an RPM fluctuation issue. Almost like the engine was spinning but no tranny engaged. I am sure there will be a quote about that somewhere on the web.

Will Buxton's tweet
2. New clutch after the 4th race is not to Hamilton's liking. Rosberg has won 3 of the past 4 races, and HAM unhappy with all starts since.

Apparently, the Red Bull marketing machine published a promotional magazine before the Austrian GP, with Niki Lauda on the cover, entitled "what is wrong with Formula 1?".
Any google savvy people can find it?

If you heard the racket the MBZ cars make in person when they are practicing starts, you would think there is something seriously wrong with the cars. RPM's going up and down, exhaust pitch changing, bogging down, name it-sounds like absolute shit.

I stand corrected:
BBC Sport - Lewis Hamilton blames poor start in Austrian GP on faulty clutch
Funny, he didn't bitch when he smoked Rosberg's ass in Montreal

The new front nose Force India tested is interesting. Wonder if it will be allowed.

Mark Gallagher is 100% right.
They got poor guy Hamilton singing kumbaya while pretending he is racing Nico and the rest of the drivers think they are chopped liver (once in a while someone throws them a bone, i.e. 3rd).

Peoples' memories are pretty damn short-Ferrari having the WC locked up by August; McLaren winning 15/16 races in one season with the drivers lapping everyone on the grid up to THIRD and there being 3 seconds between them and 3rd in qualifying. Prost in the FWB-14B was unstoppable and Mansell/Piquet were unbeatable as well in the Williams/Honda. The more they mess with the formula making it more complicated, the less interesting it got, beginning with the engine sound (where the fuck is it?!)

Agree.
When they all previously agree to the rule to disallow in-season engine development work, they all know that this is bound to happen if one engine maker hit the right spot and start running away from the rest of other engine makers.

F1's Not Sick, It's Neutered
Thought this article was decent. Would love to see some of the changes mentioned at the end happen but I highly doubt it.
A random question though. Anyone know of a place online you can watch the full length of older races or do I need to resort to trying to find torrents of them?

I have VHS tapes of every race from 1984-92. But I'm not lending them out As to your question, I don't other than torrents as you say. So yeah, pretty useless comment by me overall.
EDIT: 84-94, just re-checked. I have the Senna/Ratzenberger Imola tape.

The largest collection of F1 race videos belongs to the BBC. Sadly, you have to be in the UK to watch them online. Example: 1979 Canadian GP. One way to bypass this issue is to "adopt" a UK based IP address, somehow. An entire list appears here: https://sidepodcast.com/post/classic...s-from-the-bbc
And speaking of old footage, youtube, the 70's, 80's etc, plus how things look nowadays: hope we all see again one day a Villeneuve - Arnoux battle, like in France circa 1979. But who am I kidding! Oh well...

I might be able to handle that UK IP issue as well.

Fast lap at Silverstone from last year with Nico here:
Circuit Guide - Silverstone
Crazy 300km/h corner!
BTW, his old car, a Williams with a Toyota v8 is for sale, if anyone is interested...
https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car...0a/2008/313511
Engine no good, but I am sure some duct tape and WD40 can fix things
Edit: I don't see the reason why Williams is selling these cars. Unless there are cash flow issues or are thinking of packing and leaving? I don't want to start any rumors, I am just thinking out loud.

Shouldn't they wait until the end of the year to sell it? Once Nico becomes World Champion, this car will go up in value.
#311
^ Thats a good idea. Actually I am surprised Nico hasn't bought it yet himself. I am sure he can afford it
PS. edit: again I don't want to start any rumors, I am just thinking out loud. Maybe they are selling them now so that creditors won't get their hands on them, if they go belly up any time soon.

As a publicly traded company, Williams has all sorts of information on their website, stock prices and annual reports.
Williams F1
Stocks are down from 18.50 EUR a year ago to 14.95 EUR today.

So why are they selling a piece of their own history is a mystery to me... (you guys wanna "zine" fund ~£120k and go get it? LOL)
In other news, Honda/Mclaren have been allowed to destr... err, sorry, use an extra engine in 2015 (link to autosport article here).

You sure Williams even owns that car any more? Think about it: what are they going to get for a car with a non functional power plant driven by a non WC winner (in both respects)? Enough to cover the teams' hotel bill at the next race. To believe for a nanosecond Williams is this unstable financially is ridiculous, short-sighted, ill-informed and devoid of logic. Read last year's financial reports and you'll understand why.

In a nutshell: Williams will announce results again sometime in April 2016. Last year's decline was blamed on 2013, but next year several aerospace and defense contracts will boost their revenues, they hope. They are in the business of magnetically loaded composite flywheels technology used as energy storage (can be found in the Porsche 911 GT3 R hybrid). Problem is they need to get out of the UK for the big money defense applications. A partnership with giants like GKN may do the trick. We'll see how it goes...
PS. *cough*cough* There is a lot of flywheeling going on around my neck of the woods

Never ceases to amaze me how cheap some F1 cars sell for later on.
FWIW, Williams has been selling F1 race cars since the start, good years and bad years. Lately they have had cash flow problems and were selling off their more prestigious cars with better race pedigree.

Lauda spent the best part of his driving career @ Ferrari, how come he's not there? That has always been my question.
