Caterham: CT05 news
Caterham's 2014 Formula 1 car made a belated debut in testing at Jerez on Tuesday afternoon.
The team had initially scheduled an unveiling in the pitlane prior to the start of the morning's running, but an issue with the car meant this was delayed. It then took track to the track just before 3pm local time with rookie signing Marcus Ericsson at the wheel.
The new Renault-powered CT05 features an "anteater "version of the low nose that has become the focus of this year's F1 designs. Caterham's version is one of the most extreme in the field, with its protruding section attached under a stepped upper element.
The team is aiming to rebound from a disappointing '13 campaign where it finished 11th overall in the standings behind Marussia. It has brought Kamui Kobayashi back to F1 to bolster its chances, as well as signing GP2 race winner Ericsson.
Caterham owner Tony Fernandes said last week that he wanted the team to become a more competitive force in 2014, otherwise he would turn his back on F1. Team principal Cyril Abiteboul said at the launch that such a strong stance from Fernandes was understandable.
"I think it is right," he said. "We should not lose sight that this is also a marketing activity and in order to promote the product we have to be successful and you have to be visible in order to attract sponsors. Right now we are not."

BBC Sport - Caterham: Kamui Kobayashi was 'scared' before Russian GP
Notes: Because of a shortage of parts, Caterham's repair of a rear suspension arm consisted of a carbon fiber wrap.

Yeah, I'd be a bit concerned as well. Lot can go bad when something linked to the wheels goes bad at speed.
