Credit Card Surcharge
Anyone else noticing lot's of places are starting to impose a 1%-3% surcharge for using a credit card?
I find that a lot of the vendors I use for business are starting to impose this.
My marketing/advertising firm, my insurance, several software vendors.
It's really frustrating as CC payment is the easiest to track internally, least costly for accounting/bookkeeping to record, and the convenience of not having to log into my bank website to do a "bill pay" for a one-off check is nice.
Getting 2% back on a card seems not worth it if merchants are charging me 2% to use the damn thing... I wish they would just raise their prices 2%!

It really grinds my sack when I get charged a convenience fee for buying tickets or renewing anything at the DMV.

Interesting. I always thought it was illegal for merchants to do that.
I wish it was illegal
Although I've never encountered too many places that impose a surcharge, I have encountered plenty of places that "accept" a credit card yet discourage it.

It used to be against the merchant agreement. Visa got sued and lost so now it's the wild west.
