It was definately a good time. Only things that would have made it better were any air compressor, and a nice 70 degree day.

I'll definately have to make more of an effort to get to future meets. I wasn't exactly sure how this was going to work out. Glad to see I didn't have a garage full of gangsters or crackheads... lol

Tried a few different ways.

Tried the normal first thing - a box cutter. The stops are too tough for that

Tried the Tim Allen thing, and I grabbed my DeWalt 18 XRP sawzall, and it just shook the shit out of your hand trying to hold it steady (the foam)

The magical item (which definately helped that i have random crap laying around) was a sheetrock saw.

Thinking of crap laying around - I haven't noticed anything missing yet, but I will check when I get home for major things (like the actual socket wrench's). If you happen to find anything in your trunk or the backseat - let me know. I got my tools so unorganized right now so I probably won't even know if a socket or something is missing.

I am pretty sure that we left everything there in your box. Before we left we took a sweep through the car to make certain that we had put all the tools away and disposed of all the parts we took off.

Dan is supposed to be stopping by tonight, while he is in the garage we will take a look through the car and see if we find any tools. If we do find something, we will bring them out to you.

No biggie - I actually noticed that you put most of the tools away. I looked in the box tonight and saw everything that stood out. I just wasn't quite sure since I only had to put away a few things (and never bothered to check my box - didn't think about it until I was at work).

I definately gotta get out there and clean all that crap up this spring though. It's so nice having everything in a place that you know where it's at.

So do you all (or the 3 of you) get together pretty frequently, or is this just kind of a fluke before winter? If you guys head out some night just to hang out someplace for some food - definately would come if there was an invite and I wasn't busy.

Hey - forgot to ask too. What's your opinions on underdrives? I know we talked about the TB spacers when I quetioned what exactly they do. I'm looking for a cheap mod to do this winter to keep things going, and haven't quite decided on the underdrives quite yet.

I understand the benefit of them, but I'm not real sure if there are any dangers with underdriving the electrical essentially.

Since underdrives have 2 benefits - being the change in pulley ratio, and the lighter weight pullies; Would you think I would see most of the same benefits by just going with a lighter pulley set (stock size) - or is all of the torque from the difference in size?

Hate modding a car when it's under warranty..lol. Too many questions.

we dont get together as often as i'd like. and as much as i enjoy dan's and josh's company, i dun wanna see them fools every week unless there's other people there, or mead

dan just had springs and needed to install, i had parents whos nagging about the most nondescript stuff, josh had the knowledge we'd need and you had the garage. but for sure about the stuff, if we can get people together i wouldnt mind nabbin a burger.
anyone seen the acura commercial? where the cars go out for a midnight stroll? i wanna do that, except not at midnight

as for the pulley, i've heard nothing but good stuff about it. im still kinda sketchy about the info, but from what i know, the oem size one will give you a bit more torque and stuff. the under drive one will give you more noticeable gain, but will screw you over if you're runnin amps and other electrical stoofs

A lot of the benefit of the pulleys is from the weight, but having a smaller diameter spins the accessories more slowly and reduces the drag on the motor, which is also a benefit. So, underdrives actually provide a benefit, but if you are concerned about your accessories not spinning fast enough, I think the accessory pulleys are of a larger diameter to accommodate the slower speed. Check with UR to verify the accessory pulley sizes, it is conjecture from my part since they dont advertise the sizes.

As far as us getting together, Dan and I seem to get together pretty often (we work together, kinda), and Ken is probably the one who shows up the most. TL-ed and Ry4an have been coming out as well, but mostly for meets.

Hey you guys!

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...16#post2723716

And Brian on the pulley - go with unorthodox racing and you will have no problems. the underdrive will only cause issues if you are running a sound system over like 600 watts - UR designs them to run all stock accessories with no issues. If you are worried than just go with the stock diameter, most of the gains are associated with the weight loss any way and you just get a little extra from the smaller diameter. I am pretty sure the accessory pulleys are just for looks, but the lighter aluminum gives you like 1 extra hp from what I have heard.

Oh, that was just months of me talking about how I wanted until she finally told me to, "shut the hell up about it and order the damn thing already, I'm tired of hearing about it!"

So ladies and gentlemen, it is true, nagging works...

Once I can get the shop thing figured out, then we will be able to put some toys out there and play to our hearts content. Until then, I think my TL is my toy.

Can't hurt though, I am still getting parts for it, and I have already started in on the headers!

I have already talked to insurance companies, and that's not really a big deal, the big part is finding a place to rent. I would ideally like to have a place near midway so that I could have both St Paul and Minneapolis as markets, but I am thinking it is going to be REAL expensive to go there. It may end up being a bit further north between the two, but near enough to a hwy that it is easy to access.

I am also working with some of the performance product vendors to set up an account for the shop so that I could sell parts, but nothing on that front yet.

As they always say, location, location, location...

Ride is good man, I love the firmness really feel more connected to the car and the road. Unfortunately that road is currently covered in a thin layer of ice and snow . It seems to be a bit more leveled out now, still a little off though, and I still need an alignment but I'm not driving the car anytime soon until things clear up a bit.

Anyone know if springs will settle with the car just sitting still on them for a while or does it have to be driven?

updates from me, removed my front lip, my car looks retarded now
found out how to adjust dampening on the springs. except only my passenger side has a allen socket for it, my driver side for some reason doesnt have the mount, ill have to take it to a tein dealer after ma finals

By now it should be as close to as settled as it is ever going to be, especially since the parts weren't brand new. it's just the right front that is a little higher, and if you would quit telling people, they wouldnt notice !

and this is why we have to be careful what we post up here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170946

A couple of years back the Starboyz, a motorcycle stunt group started making and selling videos of their riding and stunting on public roads. The cops in Ohio are now using their videos to prosecute them for every single infraction...

I just got a chance to play with the TL on a dry street, and man do I love the new sound and power. It doesn't feel any faster, but it is now trying to spin the tires in second gear. That couldn't have anything to do with the ground being frozen or anything...

The sound is incredible though, it sounds much better than stock, but not overly loud. I love it.

Just so everyone knows, I put in a request to BlackAck (a cool mod) to rename this thread Twin Cities Acuras in an attempt to draw more traffic from all Acura guys. Everyone cool with that?
