haha. You have got to give it to Ken, the poor guy was lost but he was there for the first meet. However come to think of it, it was Dan, Josh, Ry4an and I at first and then we saw Ken hanging out with his boys in a far isolated corner of the parking lot. So Ken you only get 1/2 the credit.. oh I am just kidding! After all he is the one who started this thread.

Hrm, the car in the 2nd photo down on this post isn't one of us is it? http://www.startribune.com/blogs/roadguy/?p=451

That looks awfully near the Bulldog NE where we went after Saturday's photoshoot.

That would be a BMW 3 series, and it is at 35W and 4th street, near the U. Close, but not quite...

I don't think anyone from this group or at least anyone who showed up for the last two meet. The only sick CL-S is underst8's and his beast doesnt have Dub sticker or black wheels

i've seen pix of a flip. it works out pretty cleanly, the ones i've seen uses the top half of the double DIN and when it flips, it blocks out your ac buttons. the ones that's for circulate, rear defroster and some other stuff.

btw hasham, what time you planning on campin? i might join ya

Check with wherever you are buying it that it will work with Bose, usually they wont since the output from the head unit goes to an amp/crossover and then to the speakers. Your Alpine will most likely send out 50W or more, so you might have to replace all of your speakers or rewire the whole thing.

One of the sucky things about having Bose is you have to rip the whole thing out if you want to replace the HU.

yea thanks for the heads-up i'd had heard what you describe with the HU was a big problem

i was planing on doing a full system. i have a good background in doing car stereos in cars and boats so i usually do it up large. i was thinking full type-R system and PDX amps under the front seats not sure what sub i want but i hate putting stuff in my trunk so i was thinking maybe on the driver's side of the trunk custom fitting a wood/fiberglass enclosure to match. any suggestions will be great probably wont start till next spring though.

do you have anything car audio in yours?

^ Custom sub enclosure vendor - good shit

Amps under the front seats eh? better be thin mothers.

Don't have anything custom for sound now - I have a 300w jbl amp I plan on eventually throwing in there with a 10 or a 12 for a little extra bass and wire it up line-level. Nothing fancy I think the stock bose sounds decent just needs a little more bass. All my serious money is going into performance at this point.

Keep us up to date on your projects tho dude, n come to the next meet whenever that may be.

For sure. Yea i dont know how much i want to throw into this car..... I may end up changing my mind about the system and buy either a E46 M3 or E36/4 M3 to turbo sooner. I'll probably just finish what i have down in my signature....

I have done a lot of systems in my cars in the past, and I am just going to leave the TL stock because it sounds decent already. Besides, as you pointed out, I like my trunk.

that was my concern, that it will block some buttons.... although it has never been a huge deal since it has a timed flip down button on it.... I cant decide if its worth it to go to all the work and change it out.... i know it would sound a million times better - something i have never understood about honda products is why the dont install a better system factory (listen to the one in a IS 300) - and i really like the BT even though it can be a pain in the ass sometimes

Why not just put in a Carputer with a big touchscreen? I bet it would be cheaper, and you could put the computer unit in the glovebox. you could then watch moveis and listen to MP3s and all kinds of other things. you would still have to replace the speakers and amps and such too.
