You do have to take apart most of the dash to get to all the bulbs. Just remember, it's hard to change your steering wheel lights. I think they are LEDs on a circuit board. You can change them over with TLs buttons, but you do have to remove the steering wheel to do so. Just read all about how to take it apart and it's not that bad. I have one scratch on a panel from my finger nail. Sucks, but way less problems than if I had someone do it.

As far as color goes, I'm not sure how you'd get a good red. The TLs has red plastic in the buttons to get the red color. You could get all the components from a TLs and that would be the best way. I've painted bulbs red with model paint, but it fades in a year, and then you have orange.

Did you ever get an answer on the 05 fogs, i was thinking of getting the kit for the 07 type S which fits the 05, but really havnt figured out who i can get to wire the lights.

the fucking rings were mad fragile, or maybe it was the tequila doing it's job i dont know the rings just snapped I'm gonna finish it probably next week let you know how it went.
