Hi Texas, do you still have the head retorque sequence and torque specs on a 1998 2.5 CL engine? I think my niece's head gasket failed. I am going to do a compression test and possibly replace the gasket. Thanks Jim

    TexasHonda,
I have a 98 TL 2.5, I'm sure I have a leak near or behind the distributor. Instead of wasting my time and changing one of the seals I would like to change all of them. Can you walk me through the steps in this change? My email is icecoldone1906@gmaill.com.

i have an acura tl 1996 and this mourning my car started fine. i went to school and as i came back to start my car and turn on my ignition to crank, my car started and once i let go of the key thats inside of the ignition, the power dies. my headlights work fine if i switch it on whether i turn the ignition on or off to start my car. i didnt want to pay for tow so i turn the key in ignition where it started and held the key in position while turn were the car wont die n drove home. it was dangerous because if i let go of the key then my car will automatically die.

TexasHonda, Hello. I read all your posts on ABS issues. Very useful. However, I am unable to retrieve any ABS code by jumping the 2p connector under the glove box of my 97 3.0CL. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

TexasHonda.... First you're a wealth of information and I appreciate it. I have a 97 2.5tl with a bad distributor shaft seal. I understand getting the distributor out will be a bear. My question is can I just pull out the faulty distributor and cap and replace it with a new one or do I need to line up cylinder #1 TDC? Thanks in advance for your help

TexasHonda, I have a question. I recently removed my upper control arm (passenger side if that matters) on my 1996 Acura 2.5TL. My question is if there is a way to remove and replace the bushings on the upper control arm or would I have to purchase a whole new unit. I know the balljoint requires the whole unit, but I can't seem to find any aftermarket bushing kit.

Hi, could you please send me the PDF files for removing the instrument cluster as well? I'd appreciate it. '97 2.5TL

i swaped a j-spec motor into my acura tl 2.5 1996. everything works but the strange thing is, My motor will only crank and start up if its on drive gear position. I know i yanked my safety neutral switch out when i swaped my motor and i might of necked the wires. Can it be that that my engine cranks when its on drive position.
