    No dude, it's just a muffler. No side effects other than being louder. Doesn't affect emissions or anything else.

    Toms02TL, who told you that? There's no danger in deleting the mid muffler. Yes, it's true that there's no real performance gain. It does make your car sound a more aggressive though.

    yo i have an 02 tl also and i was going 2 get the mid muffler delete and the guy told me not 2 do it because the car might backfire and it really doesnt give it any more performance or sound this true?
