How wide of a tire?

I have the 'nicer' 17" rims on my ILX:

These here:
17" Alloy Wheel - 2013 - 2015 Acura ILX, Acura Parts Super Store- Acura Accessories and Parts for sale online for a discount.

What is the widest rubber I can put on these things. I need new tires, but can't afford new rims at this point. It's got the stock 215-45-17's rubber on them now?

Are 225's doable? Will they fit?

Wow...that looks perfect. I can't get 18's right now. I wish. That's the perfect ride height and tire spacing.

I guess the stock at 17x7. are those 18x7 or bigger? I'm just worried about stretching the 225 too much on my 17.7 rim.

Hey OP. Sorry for the lack of responses.

Yes a 225 tire will fit your wheels no problem.

Those are 17x7 225/45. So the same specs as what you have but 225 instead of 215.

Thanks Jon...That's perfect. And to he honest...your car is the reason I ended up getting an ILX. I've been lurking these forums for about a year now. It's really a thing of beauty!

Work offered me a lease..and wanted me to get like a honda or toyota...and I was able to convince them of the benefits of a Acura.

The cool part is, I'll end up buying the thing out right for myself in 3 years at 13,500. What a cool car.

Thanks for the awesome compliment! Means a lot to hear.

That is a sweet deal!! I am jealous for sure. I have about a year before I need to refinance. Chances are it'll take another 3 years to pay off depending how this job works out.

What color ILX did you go with?

Ya, you and OSUBeav's car totally sold me. I'm coming off of a 2002 WRX, so the MT was a requirement for me.

I went with Modern Steel. Had to have one shipped up from California to Salem...as there were only TWO MT ILX's available in the Pacific North West.

In fact, the Subie is still for sale...lol. You can kinda see it in the back of the picture, in the garage. It's in pretty good shape. Subie4sale.com

I love my WRX...but I'm not in my 20's anymore....and this ILX is the perfect car for me, so she has to go.
