2015 Civic Si Sway bar upgrade

I been doing some research on about upgrading the sway bar on the ILX and i came across the Si's 20 mm OEM sway bar. After some time reading some threads on 9thgencivic and checking part #'s on dchautomotiveparts, i bit the bullet and bought some parts that i think will work with our car. here is the parts list i came up with.

BOLT-WASHER (10X30) this is recommended for the new bracket ill be using
93404-10030-08

BRACKET, L. RR. STABILIZER since ill be putting in a thicker RSB, these brackets are reinforced to handle the thicker bar.
52318-TR7-A01

BRACKET, R. RR. STABILIZER
52317-TR7-A01

BUSH, RR. STABILIZER HOLDER x2
52306-TR7-A51

HOLDER, STABILIZER BUSH x2
52308-TR7-A00

SPRING, RR. STABILIZER - OEM 20 mm RSB
52300-TR7-A51

once i get all the stuff shipped in, ill do an install with pics. stay tuned!

Everything OEM? Hopefully you get a good fitment! I've read that MOOG are good aftermarket bushings/brackets and endlinks. Looking forward to pics and a review.

yep!, everything is OEM. another reason i went with the OEM stuff is because of the price. everything with shipping came out to about $83!

Is that so... Would you happen to know the current year sway bar specs? I believe it's something ridiculously low like 15mm. That 20mm upgrade should provide some additional stability and reduce body roll. I like, I like!

the 2014 ILX comes with a 14mm sway bar. the 2016's come with the 15mm.

Let me know if you encounter any squeaking from the new sway after install. I read some of the thicker bars, if not supported correctly with proper bushings/endlinks, you can hear it rattle and squeak. Definitely don't want that :p

sure thing! i doubt they will though since our car is basically a civic chassis and the parts are from a civic. I'm impatiently waiting for the parts to be shipped in!

got all the parts installed. here are some pics of the under carriage before and after.

to make it easy on yourself, you should take out that middle brace to take out the old sway bar.

the difference between the stock and the 2015 Civic Si sway bar. 14mm vs 20mm

old and new brackets. you can see the difference that the new one has better reinforcement

old and new bolts that hold the bracket in

the RSB is well worth the upgrade! especially for a total of $85. theres a bit less sway, the rear end feels stiffer, and less understeer.

^^^good to know, thanks for the update. Check out this thread from a year ago. He talks about improving the handling by adding front camber bolts to run a little negative camber since the car tends to run positive camber. If I ever upgrade my suspension, I may consider both (rsb and camber bolts up front)

how has the sway bar been over the last year? Any issues? Did you do the install yourself? Any chance you have a DIY guide or walk through?Looking to do this myself on my 16 ilx.

I had did a similar upgrade in the past using an Acura RSX Type R swaybar and put it on my EM2 civic. Having a larger rear swaybar on a fwd car was one of the best mods to have (I also had lowering springs and tokico shocks). Definitely would recommend this mod

Yea I've found the cheapest place is Honda parts superstore online. Before shipping everything comes out to around $87. $16 shipping ground total comes out to $104.11. I know what you mean form>function. I'm trying to decide how I want to do my mods. Least Inexpensive first, or what I really want first, or visual.... I don't know lol. But I do drive the car a lot so I think I would personally enjoy this upgrade more because I'm in the car for anywhere 2-4 hours a day depending on what my work day looks like and what the traffic is like in NYC. I've also been considering a splitter for the front lip though... Decisions decisions...

Has anyone installed the EIBACH PRO-PLUS (PRO-KIT SPRINGS & ANTI-ROLL-KIT SWAY BARS) kit on their 2016 ILX? Looks like a good deal, just wanted to make sure no one had any issues with the install.

Hey Im about to do this mod...can you please verify how many of the bigger bolts you will need and edit the thread accordingly...I really appreciate this thread...just not sure how many bolts we will require. From the pic it looks like only 2 packages. Please confirm or correct me. Thanks

Thanks OP for posting this. I purchased what you had suggested and had this installed. Great, low cost upgrade.
