Clunking/Rattling from under Car
So I was able to get my rear shocks replaced under warranty eliminating one clunking noise , but there's another that's been bothering me from the front of the car. When I go over a string of bumps in the road (generated from years of pothole patches on top of patches). I hear and feel something that's loose under my feet. I first thought it might have something to do with the front driver-side suspension, but after looking under the car I noticed a plastic diffuser on the underside. I shook it and noticed there is some vertical play and that it will contact the underbody. Now I'm thinking this may be the culprit. Possibly there's a screw missing? If not I'm wondering what I can do (other than removing it) to secure it better. Is this piece as flimsy on everyone else's car?
As soon as I fix this issue, in the spring I plan on adding some sort of sound deadening to the rear and the front floor pans to help block out some road noise.

Good luck. Glad I've replaced my springs and struts.

Flyers257...Do you have some warranty still? If so, why not take it to the dealer.

I had them look at it when they were fixing the shocks/service. They said they couldn't replicate it, but I didn't push too hard to have them check again. I can bring it back in some other time, but I figured I'd just fix it myself like I plan on doing with my driver-side door rattle. It's just so cold now, so if I figured if it was an easy fix I would take care of it now instead of waiting 'til spring.

that front diffuser is held on with a bunch of tap plugs and 2 screws. maybe one of them popped out while going over a bump. also, you can try to remove the diffuser and put double sided tape on, the thicker 3m stuff, to dampen the vibrations and see if that helps.
