2016 ILX mods complete

Finally finished my mods to my Tech plus A spec. Want to thank Duval Acura in Jacksonville FL and my Sales rep Lawrence Blaushield and Service Leader Merrick Wade. I could not have done this without you.

Well that sucks. Wife doesnt have any hobbies she spends money on to warrant you being able to spend money on what will make you happy?

I hate hearing men claim they cant invest in a hobby if they want their wife to be happy.

Those were fun to install, got to remove a lot of the dashboard pieces. Having a lift would have made it a bit easier while threading the wires under the dash.
So what do you think of the rear window spoiler?

I hear you on that one. But computers are another of my hobbies and it takes a lot of my cash too. The real reason is I bought the full service package and if I do much more it will void it. The service package pretty well covers everything on the car as long as its OEM stuff. I would love to do the sway bar upgrade and the wheel spacers

Looks nice! Where did you get it? I was looking on the list of accessories for the ilx I didn't see rear window spoiler. Is It aftermarket?

Yes it is after market from Spoiler King. Had a local paint and body shop color match and paint. It is just slightly darker than factory color. BTW it was only $60 and nice quality.

Thanks, if you have any questions let me know. I was able to get the dealer to install the front mods just for the price of the parts. They discounted the parts and labor so the whole thing equaled the parts price. Get to know your service manager and they will work with you.

Do it. It looks great doesnt it! I honestly am loving this color even more than the Catalina blue everyone and their mom is getting the new ILX in. I think there are already like 3 or 4 on here with plans to mod and they all already got beat out by some girl not even on this forums running some all black 3 piece wheels and bags on her catalina blue ilx. She tagged it #projectcatalina but only has one pic up.

Tell your service manager you want the the front aspec kit, rear splash guards, door sill garnish, lower-door chrome strips, and aspec spoiler (or 2013-15 hybrid spoiler).

Not sure if a dealer will purchase the spoilerking rear window visor or not.

You're looking at...
Front kit - 300 (based on price of my 2013 front kit)
splash guards- 100
door sills- 250
chrome strips- 150
spoiler- 100 (based on delray hybrid pricing)
spoilerking visor- 75 +money to paint

Looking at somewhere around $1000 before labor.

Some of these I would do myself. What I would pay to have done are the front kit and spoiler. Everything else most people could handle if they wan to save some cash.

As for the spoilerking visor. I just threw mine on without painting it. Matches the black of my front "splitter".

Those are some good prices listed, but its based mostly on 13 - 15 models years. Unfortunately for the 2016 owners its more expensive.

Depending on dealership location prices ranges
We're looking at ...
Front kit $450 - $495
Splash guard (rear) $84 - $155
Illuminated door sills $355 - $390
Chrome door trim $285 - $313
Spoiler $129 - $200
Spoilerking Visor $75

Totaling around 1,500 or more again depending on your location
And all before labor cost

I bet youd find better prices at acuraoemparts sites or dealership ebay accounts. Those all look like MSRP. If they tried charging me 285+ for door trim or $355 for door sills Id laugh my way out of the dealership.

But I guess you may have to wait until the 2017s move out for Delray to offer their great prices.

Actually, I am interested in purchasing the door trim but my dealer has it for $313. I seen some on ebay for the 13-15 for about $130 but not too confident of looks and fitment. I did find the new style 2016 version but $220 is the cheapest i can find. Op how much did you pay for your door trim?

As for the spoiler i am pretty damn sure the new aspec spoiler is identical to the 13 hybrid spoiler. Smaller than the original 2.4 spoiler with the chrome strip.
Delray acura sells it for like 100 depending on their stock in that color.

Thats the only part i think they reused though. I border line still want that but i love the wingless look too. Coming from the integra crowd wingless ftw.

Yes you are correct, before the hybrid was murdured from the lineup. They stole the spoiler and sold it to the A-spec. Which is wierd adding it to the list (assuming you were listing all op's mod's) He has the A-spec and did not need to install that mod..
IMO i think you should get the spoiler, the rear looks too plain without one especially when your front is so aggressive . your set-up looks great its just missing that final touch

Yeah the list i gave was so the other poster could reach a similar look. Ops car looks very "complete" from a factory fully loaded perspective. I enjou it a lot.

I think a mild drop and some 15mm spacers would look soooo sweet.

The service manager gave me a discount, so price was $230. It is rather high for trim but this is still the current year. The price will surely go down once the new model comes out

That was the hardest discussion not to do the rear spoiler. It came down to having just the front done did it look uneven. I think it does only if you know of the rear spoiler. Also I wanted to keep the rear splash guards, which you loose if you install the rear spoiler

I was actually referring to the trunk spoiler when I mention rear spoiler.
Not having the rear underbody spoiler doesn't look bad tho, i dig it! the rear splash guard Mix with the front underbody spoiler is something i have not yet seen.
Looks good bro

The front lip with rear mudguards still breaks up the bodylines and still makes it look a little lower, especially with the mid piece (side lips) that were an add on piece before the mid model change.

I'd recommend you get the window vent visors. You don't have to do that right away, but it will complete the look more. Also would second that recommendation of wheel spacers to fill out the fenders and a mild drop. Although, you might not be into the drop, since you appear to be mature and probably don't care about that.

He has a trunk spoiler, comes with the A-spec package
I agree with the window visors
Not much for spacers and drop myself

Yes I am a little older than most ILX owners LOL. I know that lowering it would void my service warranty but want to double check on the spacers.

chrome strips- 150

Where do you get these chrome strips are they a generic one size fits all or for specifically for the ILX...i trust their glue ons.

PS

I really love this color as it changes color at different angles and lighting. There was an ILX Aspec with Tech in the showrrom when I bought my car it had all the accessories on it with the front and rear lower spoilers with the diamond cut optional wheels and I damn near jizzed myself. What a stunning color. Your car looks great. Jealous over here.

those are OEM accessories chrome strips.,,, specific to the ILX... Look online and buy it from somewhere with cheap or free shipping... Ebay or Amazon sometimes... Then I you can find the instructions online if you look hard enough... and either do it yourself, or take it to like a body shop and have them do it for a lot cheaper then the dealer...

Hello Koju01,

Nice setup! May I ask where did you buy the rear visor, if you have a link to provide that would be great!
Thanks DG.
