Installing aftermarket amp and sub

Hello all,

New here. Not sure if this is correct forum to post.

Had my 2016 ILX Premium/Aspec since November of 2015. So far so good. Came from a heavily modified 2003 Acura RSX-S. In my early 30s now with two kids, so this is what I got to haul those two rug rats around. My biggest complaint the head room, I'm 5'11" and only have about an inch of space between my head and the roof.

Honestly, there's not much upgrade in term of performance and handling. I miss and still missing my RSX.

Anyways, first upgrade I did on this car is replacing the speakers. The audio system in this car suck ass. Even the 2013+ Honda Civic sound system sounds better.

Currently in a dilemma. Trying to upgrade the amp+sub and having issue on how to run the RCA cable to the amp. I read you can tap it from the rear speaker by using a Low input to RCA converter. This would be the hard way as I have no idea how to run that RCA from the rear speaker to the trunk to the amp. I noticed the car have a subwoofer right above the trunk, I was thinking of tapping into this and run the RCA to the amp from it. Would this be optimal? Please help.

use a LOC(line out convertor) to tap into the sub. the LOC will have RCA outputs, so that you can install an amp in the trunk

The Line out converter, I think, would only work on regular speaker, can I use that on the stock subwoofer?

^if you can access the + and - on the sub, then I would say yes.
I dont have an ILX, but a 2006 TL and thats how I did mine.

also, be warned that you have ANC's Active Noise Cancellation systems...

you'll need to disable them or else your sub is going to emit a strange frequency at all times

I believe the ILX, you'll need to disconnect or remove the brain of the system in the dash board, i think its near the glove compartment.

Yes, I can see it's split on the + and - on the stock subwoofer connection.

About ANC, oh man, I was hoping I dont need to do anything extra. How do they look like? some kind of fuse I can pop out?

no, you need to disable or remove the BRAIN which is found in the dash near the glove compartment.

you cannot simply remove a fuse or disconnect the receivers.
the brain of the system has to be disabled or you'll get a rumbling frequency in your sub

Anc on the 2013 can be found right behind the glove box. Barely accessible by taking the silver dash garnish off above the glove box. Unscrew a few bolts then the glove box should drop down a bit for your had to reach through. Its a tight fit unless you remove more.

Any pics of the rsx?

Might not look heavy modified, but I like mine being stock sleeper look. Just regular N/A upgrades. Intake, Exhaust, Hondata ECU reflash, Tanabe Coilovers. Nothing to wow about.

Here some picture of it taken Fall of last year.

Not suite sure what the audio shop I took my car to did exactly. I had the Amp, Woofer, Woofer Box, fuse, etc all ready for them, but they added one extra item. They called it the high to low converter or something like that. it is a line out converter though. This is how it looks.

Acura ILX 2013

I just need a wiring diagram to connect a line out converter. I can't find anything on right front audio and left front audio inputs to the radio.
