I just picked up a 2015 ILX and synced my iPhone 6 via Bluetooth. I'm very familiar with Acura since I had a 2007 TL Type-S and most recently a 2012 TSX so syncing my iPhone wasn't difficult to do. I was surprised to see an error message stating that my iPhone was not compatible for the text message feature. How can this be possible? Most people have an iPhone or an Android. Am I doing something wrong?

Go under Settings -> Bluetooth -> (Press on the "i" next to the HandFreeLink) -> Make sure that "Show Notifications" and "Show Contacts" are both on. This should allow the text messages to appear. Keep in mind it would only work when you are at a stop that it will show the message.

Remember that the iPhone is not fully compatible. It will show/read the message, but you cannot reply using the built in ILX system. Personally, I've turned this off and use Siri Eyes Free to hear and reply to texts.

I've got a 2013 ILX 2.4. Has anyone had the dealer install the Siri Eyes Free upgrade to the car's firmware? I contacted my dealer but their response was that they had no idea what I was talking about. Have considered doing it myself, but am a bit reluctant.

Anyone have an idea or comment?

^Generally not something you can do yourself. FYI, the update was initially for '13-14 ILX and RDX models. So far, it does not apply to the '15 RDX for some reason. No idea if the ILX is also excluded for 2015.

I am a new 2015 ILX w/tech owner. I called my dealer regarding the Siri Eyes Free availability, they told me it wasn't available. I called Acura Client Relations who confirmed that it was only available for the 2013-2014 models.

Seems odd since I thought I read that the systems were identical. Kind of a bummer since I was hoping to use Siri instead of the clunkier in car voice system.

^^ I agree, I wonder if it's a 'testing' issue where they haven't tested it even if it's the same system? Maybe there are other changes under the hood?

^^ iphones will generally read through the car's built in system, but it won't allow replies.

I have a 15 ILX with siri eyes free. it works great. This is not something that you can install yourself, as it requires the dealer to hook up the computer and upload new firmware.

you can't install this on your ILX if it is a base model. Other than that, you're fine. I think the 2016 model comes with it already loaded.

Has anyone with the 16 ilx and iphone 6 having trouble with the system reading out the text message? i liked this feature and it just stop working. now it says " read message when vehicle is stop" I checked the car settings everything is on and i check the iPhone setting its seem fine, also b4 my iphone i had a galaxy note 3 and when receiving a call the contact photo would appear on the large screen i cant seem to get that feature with the iphone 6 any suggestions would be helpful?
