Smart Remote Help....

I've had 2 Harmony Ones with defective screens. The first one was dropped by my friend, I tried to get Logitech to replace it but they refused. My friend ended replacing it for me. The second just started showing lines the other day, I called Logitech today and once again they were no help. I refuse to give them another penny of my money. Does anybody know any other companies that makes good remotes and actually stands behind their product? I've been looking at URC but I don't know much about them. Thanks!

I am a direct URC dealer. Their remotes fare WAY better than Harmony. Most here know my thoughts on the Harmony line, and they were formed because of a multitude or issues I've seen with them over the years. On the flip side, I've only seen a handful of issues with URC. Be aware that URC remotes do not come with the software to program, and online sales are prohibited. If you purchase online, you will not have a warranty. I can tell you what MSRP is on any remote in their CCP lineup to help you choose, as well as let you know what features each have over the other. IF you wish to program yourself, you have to find a dealer that is willing to give you the software, it is left to the discretion of the dealer, as they become your tech support path. URC does not officially offer tech support to the end user. With that said, many people have called and gotten support anyway. If you want more info, you can PM me and we can discuss them.

BTW, I have a buddy that runs a business like I do in the Philly area if you need help. He recently signed on as a direct URC dealer as well.

I actually took a look at URC remotes online and after thinking it over I decided to pick a used Harmon One up for Craigslist. Call me a glutton for punishment but I'm so familiar with that remote that it only made sense to me, plus the guy sold it for $60. Thx again for responding

I've heard good things about Red Eye remotes but have never tried one. Any thoughts?

https://thinkflood.com/products/

Uses your phone or ipod touch to control things (good use for old devices) and works over wifi so you're not limited by IR range or line of sight control. Well the base station is but not the remote.

Any opinion on how the R50 compares to a Harmony?
