I have a 40" Samsung LED and I love it, it's not a smart TV and it only has 2 HDMI ports but it's a very nice image.
I'd look into Vizio, Samsung, Sony or even Sharp.

To me though saying "buy LED" isn't quite good enough. There are many different types of LED applications. Some better then others.
Also, we are close enough to the holidays that it may be worthwhile to wait to buy for a couple months.
