Nicks2001tl Country Home
Which Country? Greece. It is in a village (pop. 165 people). We built it in the village where my Father, Grandfather, my Great Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather and Great Great Great Grandfather lived.
Everything about the house turned out really nice. There are only two issues.
1) It is so high up and sticks out so much that it succumbs to wind shear. Not uncommon for the winds to blow the patio furniture off the balcony and tear up some roof tiles from time to time.
2) No light fixtures are in as of yet. Nobody in my family can agree on what style light fixtures to put in. I am going to take it upon myself to find some (mix of classic and modern if possible. Going to shop Italy, Greece and England. I need to find find 23 light fixtures.
View from the balcony.
View from one of the bedrooms.
View from the kitchen window.

Anytime but BYOB. In 2.5 weeks I only drank 2 beers, a Heineken and an Amstel. Greece desperately needs American beers. IMO of course. The food though was outstanding though!

It is a vacation home. Us and about a hundred others have there home here for summer use. They all live in a close big city after summer is done. We and another family are from the US and two are families from Sweden and Belgium(Greek). My Dad goes every year and now that my Mom has retired she also will go every year. It took me 12 years to get back, but most likely will visit more often in the future for a couple of weeks.

Can't agree on light fixtures, so there aren't any... Sure y'all aren't Mexican?
Those views are gorgeous though. Love all the wood work too.

Walked into an electronics store and found they have smart tv`s. So the technology is there but it was very nice not to have internet or my cell phone blowing up for the couple of weeks I was there.
And honestly if I had cable there I might not have come home.

Gives me a good excuse to go again next year (been 12 years) to put some fixtures up.
It is a nice getaway, always welcome.
How to get there from here. I left my house at 11:00 on FrI. morning, left the airport at 3:00 PM arrived at the front door of my place at 12:00 Sat. night. With the time change it`s a long trip and you need a couple days to recoup from the trip and stay a minimum of two weeks to make it worth it.

Got all the lights installed inside. Greece has 240 compared to our 110 so been turning off the main power to the house to install the fixtures. Also bought all LED bulbs and for the fixtures.
Really liked how this one turned out. Simple and inexpensive. The bulb was eight bucks fixture fourteen.
