DIY Guestroom Reno
This one took a good number of weekends. This was the last bedroom in a 100 yr old house that never received TLC. The molding and baseboards were cracked and removing from the plaster walls. I patched about 20+ areas of the wall and ceiling, and caulked every corner of the room and every inch of where wood met plaster. Spot skimcoated the plaster and sanded for smoother surfaces and crisper edges, and wood puttied all areas of rotted molding. All in, about 50 hours.
-Level out radiator and reset to stop steam banging (used a car jack, lol)
-Rebuild radiator cover
-Patch cracked plaster walls and ceilings
-Rebuild molding at areas of wood rot
-Build shelving and install trim
-Rebuild existing recessed light
-Add new light
-Caulk and wood putty everything
-Shave down doors (they didnt close previously), and install new hardware
-Fresh paint everywhere.
