Let me clarify. It's a modified version my pro trainer/friend gave me where sweeteners, dairy (not milk because of sugar but cheese yes), are allowed. He's prescribed it to his other clients including my cousin who is his girlfriend. I personally have 117/8x blood pressure, low glucose, cholesterol under 200, good HDL, tremendous weight loss, etc.

On the subject of fish oil, what fish oil do you guys take? I've been taking the GNC fish oil 1500. I've heard mixed views on fish oil in regards to capsules that are enteric coated vs non-enteric

Interesting. What I've heard is

Enteric coating = controls fish burps and taste
non-enteric = does its job better.

This is accurate, to a point. Enteric coatings allow for the fish oil capsule to pass through the stomach and in to the intestines full intact, where the nutrients will be absorbed; 10% is normally absorbed in the stomach and provides more lipase to breakdown the capsule. You're better off just sucking it up and taking a non-enteric coating until your body adjusts

Now, a note about fish oil
- It goes away if you supplement on the regular
- It is NOT an indicator of quality!
- Obviously, however, a low quality fish oil will taste much nastier than a pharmecutical quality fish oil
- You want a fish oil that is 70 - 80% EFAs; the retail stuff is all 30%. Better than nothing at all, but diminishing returns.

Nordic Naturals. Compare this to your GNC brand - see the difference in EFA concentration?

I worked at GNC for 10years and never heard that non-enteric does its job better...Enteric coating is the way to go due to the absorbtion..And when it comes to herbs always get the standerized extract of the herb.

Wow, I just watched this and thought "I smell another upcoming supplement craze" and it looks like it's already well underway


I've never even heard of myostatin inhibitors until I saw this.

IMO trying to inhibit something your body produces naturally sounds like crap. To me that's similar to full on shutting down organs.

Alright switching to a new protein. Well, for the most part I'm taking Isopure Unflavored. I mix it with frozen berries, a banana, etc. iirc the ratio is like 26g protein to 29g of powder. Can't get better than that, IMO.

The downside is the price. I think it's like $48 for 3 pounds of powder..

I'm doing BCAA, NO2, Fish Oil, Protein, and a Multi. Just started the BCAA and NO2 a couple weeks ago and my workout performance has improved significantly. Thinking about trying what DeathMetal suggested on the prevoius page and supplementing the protein shakes with a cup of rice and tuna or chicken breast.

N02 is full of creatine and guarantee thats where your gains are coming from!

use real food for protein, instead of using a supplement.

and I'm about to listen to deathmetal about carb cycling. I want to get to 14% body fat or leaner.

Creatine was a nice temporary bulk/power fix for me. But it made me pee like crazy and get a little more aggressive.

Sam's Club Multi (Centrum knockoff), been taking that for years
Just recently started taking Green Tea extract, Fish oil, L-carnitine, and BCAA. I have a hunch in the long haul I'll drop out the L-carnitine and BCAA unless I get really heavy into lifting. I'm mostly trying to lose weight and gain a little muscle. I don't have a whole lot of time to exercise but do lift a little and chase a toddler around and walk as much as possible. Eating a lot of protein in my diet, not looking to supplement it since I'm keeping calories around 1500 or less to keep losing weight. Quest bars make an excellent breakfast, 170 calories, 20 grams protein, 19 grams fiber and no sugar, uses stevia instead of nasty tasting artificial sweeteners. Been losing about a half pound a day with this diet. Myfitnesspal makes counting calories easy, whether you're looking to cut calories for fat loss or eat more for heavy training I recommend it.

cold and flu season is coming up (or already here), gonna be eating more oranges and taking some vitamin C, what other vitamins would help boost my immune system?

Check out Orange Triad to use as a multi, it has immune, digestive, and joint supplements in it too.

IMO if boosting your immune system is what you're after, I'd suggest eating the fruits and berries instead of using supplements. That way you're taking in the vitamin C + all the antioxidants needed to keep yourself in check.

So I got a free sample of CLA with the multivitamins I just bought. Stopped taking the multis for a month and for some reason I've ballooned up in weight



Anyways, been curious about CLA, what's your guys opinion on it?

It's finally happened. The supplement industry is so fixated on making broscience-tainted fat guy foods that they've finally made Protein Potato Chips.

Chips

Sure it's Quest so it's not as bad as it could be, as far as the nutrition profile. But still, when I started fixing up my diet I lost my appetite for doughnuts, potato chips, ice cream, etc...

Did all that man made scientific formula stuff from A to zinc with heart and dedication for 5 years and it did take its toll on me. From creatine to shit that i couldn't even pronounce!!! Anyways, I do still take supplements but not as harsh. Try to go all natural ingredients
meaning earth goodness type of stuff. This product called Zeal from a compnay called Zurvita has actually helped a lot. Trust me I do a lot of research on anything I purchase these days and the ingredients that's contained in it actually is more beneficial. Plus i watch what i drink as well and im all about the Kangen water.

BCAA during workout
whey protein + 1tsp creatine post workout

Hard to tell how much CBD has helped, since I've also been taking glucosamine and fish oil, as well as multi-vitamins.

I ended up trying a CBD/THC 1:1 blend and it knocks me out. My insomnia is normally pretty bad, but I struggle to stay awake longer than 45 mins after using a vape pen. I seem to not feel as sore as my buddy does. He hasn't started taking supplements yet besides protein bars and shakes.

Going to a dispensary by myself was such a bizarre experience. I've gone several times before but never bought actual bud for myself.
