Second fitness test completed.

Saw pretty significant gains on all exercises.
More gains, and less fatigue than the first time around. Pretty cool, indeed.

I gotta say the fitness tests really push me to the limits. Perhaps because I'm really pushing to blow-away the previous results

When I completed the fitness test last night I thought to myself: Pure Cardio is easier

I've read that in order to cut BF you have to life weights. Cardio will burn everything. Lean mass and BF. something like that.
Once you hit a certain point, you'll have to introduce weights into your programming in order to avoid consuming your muscle mass. Look at the difference between an Olympic long distance runner and a sprinter. The Long distance runner does cardio around the clock while the sprinter has a sprinting and weight program. Adding a few pounds of muscle will do wonders for your metabolism as it will naturally consume calories just to maintain.

Update:

Finished week 3.

So far only skipped one day, but made up for it a few days later by doing 2 work-outs in one day.

Still a bit "sore", but not super-sore or hobbling.
Trying to consume more calories.

2nd half right around the corner

checking in 2 years later!

I started the program 2 years ago and it helped put me on the right path and a new lifestyle.

I went from 225 to 165 and have held the weight off ever since.. I think this Is my natural "healthy" weight as it seems to want to hold there quite stubbornly but im happy with it.

just wanted to keep you guys updated.

I just finished the first four weeks.
Gonna start the recovery week tomorrow.

So far I really like it.

I was lean from the start, but now my abs are showing like never before. Pretty cool.

I know I'm stronger and even more fit than before. Stamina is much improved, and I notice it when I play other sports.

I gained a few pounds which I assume is the additional muscle mass, as I had no weight to lose when I started.

about the 2nd half of the program.

Recovery week is odd.

For some reason I have more muscle soreness during recovery week than I did during the prior week.

Ok, who is the genius that decided to put a Fit Test and Max Cardio Circuit on the same day?!?!?!?!!?

Day one of the 2nd half....

Stupid me did the fit test and Max Cardio Circuit back to back....I assumed it was like pure cardio and cardio abs (back to back).

That was beyond crazy......I read online (after the fact) that many people do the fit test on their recovery day to avoid the train wreck that I did.

Man am I sore today.

If anyone gets bored with the Insanity workouts, I found a great site for continuing the same style of workouts, albeit at a 'slightly' reduced intensity.

Fitness Blender: (click on SEARCH WORKOUTS top right)

You can pick the duration, intensity, body area, etc..

LOTS of videos, and it varies things up nicely which helps keep things interesting.

You were smarter than me.

Splitting them over the day would have been a much better idea.

I was gassed a little over midway through the circuit workout.

btw....finished this a bit ago.

In a nutshell.....and excellent experience with great results.

Will probably do it again in a few months or so, or at the very least mix in the work outs every few days, as I want to get back to my running routine.

I highly recommend the program.

Too lazy to search, check out www.fitnessblender.com if you like insanity but need some variety, shorter workouts, etc...

You can sort by workout type, duration, intensity, etc.. All free.

To revive a semi-old thread, reading through these posts has given me the "umph" to go ahead and get started on the program. I am only 5'4" and (currently) weigh about 150. Not looking to necessarily loose any weight, just to burn the beer gut I have. I am trying to stay at around 1800~ calories on any given day, and maybe 1-2 days a week plan to add some strength training into the mix as well. Haven't decided if those days will be strength only or a combo - depends on how things go! I just completed the fit test and was sweating like a whore in church. Hoping for good things to come!

Figured I'd throw in a quick update. I'm into week two now. I don't look like Shaun T yet (lol) however I am noticing my stamina slowly getting better and I'm having to pause less throughout the routines (but still do pause at points.)

I'm also discovering my weaknesses. I knew that I was not very flexible at all, and that I had horrible balance, but the warm ups really put into perspective how bad at those traits I really am lol. I am trying to watch what I eat and stay on a restricted calorie diet, but I am going to gauge by the end of this week whether I need to add/drop more calories. Oh, and Tonyas still a bitch.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here and came across this thread. After reading some of the posts on here and some of the results, I think this is something I am going to give a shot at. I've signed up to do a sprint triathlon in late summer 2014 and I want to do awesome at it.

I'm 5ft 8in and currently weigh in at about 180lbs. I'd like to go down to about 150-160lbs. I've been doing really heavy weight lifting for the past two months and I can tell that I'm getting stronger and putting on quite a bit of muscle but I really want to get rid of my gut and all the fat.

Couple questions:
1.) Where do you guys do this workout? Living room? Garage? Gym?
2.) Do recipes come with the meal plan schedule?

Thanks and I hope to start soon!

1) I just did it in my living room, but a few of my friends have used their basement. Also, there are a few gyms around me that are offering Insanity classes now taught by Beach Body coaches.
2.) Meal plans come with it if you buy the whole set, but I just used a calorie calculator to see how many I needed and ate a balanced (primarily lean proteins, vegetables, etc) diet. example:

Well, I asked those questions two months ago and haven't had time to really do anything since but that changes today. Starting right now to see how this goes, hope you guys can help to motivate as I go.

Stats:
Height: 5ft 8in
Age: 28
Goals: 155-160lbs, 32in waist

Day 1: 185lbs, 36in waist

Here we go, wish me luck.

I am an inch shorter than you and just recently went from 180lbs - 155lbs.
it's an awesome journey!
eating is a big part of it, what you stuff in your face is important!

Awesome. I think it's more of what you don't stuff in your face that is more important.

Update 1: First day was the fit test and it really showed me how bad of shape I was in from a cardio standpoint. I lifted fairly heavy for the previous 9 months and got quite a bit bigger/stronger because of it. However, I didn't lose any weight and gained a LOT of fat and a gut because I failed to do any ab or cardio work. Because of this, I didn't have much muscle fatigue but was out of breath very fast.

Day 2 tonight, hoping to gain a lot of endurance over this program.
