Seemed to fix a buzzing noise, but am I missing something?

Bought my 2014 TL SH-AWD Tech from a dealer just over a week ago. Noted an occasional buzzing noise from the driver's side front area. Removed the engine covers and found a loose partially broken plastic fastener, which was not holding down anything at the time, and removed it. See the picture attached. My question is, are these 2 fasteners supposed to have something attached to them that I am missing? The dealer has been good about taking care of these things, just want to address it sooner then later!

If it's only been a week I would imagine the dealer should take care of the issue for you. certified??

Yes, but I just wanted to know if there is something that is supposed to be there, held on by those two fasteners?

Mine looks exactly the same as yours, just has both fasteners. Unless I'm missing something as well....

Thanks for checking, that answers it...or does it?...Wait, maybe the dealer monitored my internet activity...saw my question...realized you would check...and stole the same thing out of your engine to cover up that mine was missing!!!! (cue X-Files theme)

There should be a piece of engine cover there that the two clips hold in place.

takehold66 is correct. Have the dealer replace the missing part.

Ok, to be clear, I removed a cover before taking that picture...are you saying there is another piece under the main cover?

I removed my cover as well to see it originally. Sounds like neither of us are missing anything!

What part of CT are you in? I went to QU for undergrad and grad so lived in Hamden for 5 years!

OK so I just looked at mine again and those two round fasteners hold the plastic piece that they are attached to, to a metal piece underneath the plastic piece. If you run your hand underneath the plastic and slide to the left, you can feel a piece of metal that runs the length. It looks like you can leave it out and be OK but you could also get a new clip and reinstall it.

Do you have a picture so I can get a better idea, and show the non_acura dealer I got it from so they can order it for me.

Sorry this took so long. The right fastener is in place but there is nothing on the left side, even though it looks like there used to be one there. Don't remember taking it out or any other reason it's not there. Does not seem to have any effect either way.

Looks the same except I never took the one on the right out. Either way I am sure they are both fine.
