Anywhere between 3-5k, really depends how much city to highway I have driven, I tend to also pay attention to the oil life meter I have never let it go under 25% and that's if I have been really busy. Overall that meter seems to be very accurate. I will see how things change soon, I have changed jobs and will be doing an average of 2.5k a year from home to work instead of about 20k I was doing prior lol, so let's see how that changes my oil habits.

Ok.. Cool... Looks like the interval is low. At 3k on mine, I see little to no change in oil level, but around 4k-5k, it's burned half a quart. My intervals have been around 8k, so I just add oil as necessary to keep the engine running without any issues.

Ideally, how many miles should a TL give you on fresh oil? I do my changes at the dealership and if I am correct I have changed my oil about 3 or 4 times in the last 10K miles...I bought my 2011 SH-AWD TL with about 52K and now it has about 62K. Thanks in advance guys.

3 or 4 times in the last 10k? holy crap that's way too much. You should be getting ~7.5k miles on one oil change.

I thought the 3.7 was the same engine as the 3.5, just bored out... seems strange that it has oil consumption issues when the 3.5 has none...

Though no one knows exactly why the oil consumption is happening in the 3.7L motors, as Honda/Acura hasn't officially addressed it.

Mine is being consumed at a rapid rate. (2012 shawd tech) one litre(quart) at 40 percent oil life. After all the other issues I have had with this car. This one scares me the most. I thought the engines in these cars were bullet proof. Sadly. Just like the fit and finish on these cars. The engine is also poorly designed. After 6 Acura's. This will be my last. A car with 55000km (about 36000miles) this should not be happening. Sad Acura. Very sad. I pulled up next to a 1989 Corolla yesterday and we both were adding oil to our cars.

I'm curious as to what fit and finish issues you've experienced. The 4G TL has generally been regarded to have excellent fit and finish and quality of materials. My 5 year old TL has held up very well, and I still get constant compliments on the quality of the car.

I can post pictures. The interior has great quality materials. BUT, I find when I go over bumps the rattle noises coming from the rear and the front of the car are so annoying. Sound in cabin is amazing. On the highway I can't hear anything inside the cabin. I'm mostly talking about how each door doesn't align to one another. One door is higher the rear door is lower. The gas door on every single 4g TL is placed and welded slanted. I was abit pissed of yesterday writing my post because I discovered the burning issue for the first time. I do my own oil changes so I know I filled it to the top line. Maybe I was abit harsh in the post. I love my car. But I have had so many problems with this car. I don't know if I made the right choice purchasing it. I never had regret of purchase for my 92 gsr. 1994 legend lls, 1998 rl, 2006 tl. I loved all of those cars and they lasted until sold with zero issues. I'm just not use to checking to see if my oil is ok. It was the last thing I expected after throwing a years salary on a car and your scared in 5 years it might not be as reliable as the car you traded in for.

Just my 2 cents, I have had my 09 AWD for 5yrs now and really have not had any real oil loss (change every 8K), trans issues (changed fluid at 60K and 85K) or any of the other problems that I read about. I did have a rattle with the front passenger door, (dealer fixed)

I also had the crappy H/A battery fail with no warning twice, first time dealer replaced (both lasted 2yrs), this past time i bought a aftermarket one. I've also had 2 blown speakers (dealer replaced).

I only have one real complaint if you want to call it a complaint...it's on the driver door handle it has started to fade(color coming off) but after 6yrs of service maybe this is normal. I will say both my GSR's never had any issues and i had 1 6yrs and the other 11yrs. I may be bias to H/A but this is just my history with my cars and I know all are not the same. Just me adding my 2 cents
