Keep my wheels or trade/sell for 19" diamond cut?
Since it's winter time and my Vossens are sitting in storage, I have been thinking about a few things. Do I really want 20"s? How quick will I get tired of the Satin Bronze wheels? How rough will the ride be with 20"s and do I want to watch out for every little imperfection in the road? Also do I want to bother with swapping wheels for winter ones and Vice versa? Also I don't wanna roll fenders or lower the car.
Now every time I see the 19" diamond cut Acura wheels, they still look great. Especially on the CBP, which I own. I can also leave those on year round and not really worry to much about them. Plus they look great. The ride should be a little softer as well, at least I think. At least I have a few months to decide on it.

It wouldn't really be the Vossens look you're thinking of, the wheels I got are the VFS2 in Satin Bronze. I have yet to see those wheels on any TL in any color. That would be a plus as no one else is running them that I know of. At the same time no other car has them in my area and it would make my TL more unique. There are two others near me with the diamond cuts.

As I said, you already know what you want

Not sure about where you live but where I live, all season tires just don't cut it in the winter. They don't do anything and become rock solid after 0c and in Canada, it's probably -15c or lowering on average. I have a set of OEM 18's for winter and 20's for summer.
I find that if you run whatever size rims, in the winter you're going to damage them. Mine are curbed and I don't even remember how I did it. Could be from ice or salt/rocks that are poured onto the ground during the winter.

I don't drive the TL in the snow or ice, I actually have only driven I t twice in the past three weeks. It's been sitting on the side of my house and needs a good wash. I might buy one of those temporary garages that look like tents and leave it in there over the winter. No room for it in the garage.
I picked up a 2010 Camry 4 banger that I have been driving for work and have pretty much been driving that around even after work.

diamond cuts only really look good with a full lip kit..
and plus, you get many drawbacks on riding with 20's.. lost of mpg, loss of ride comfort, have to drive slow and cautious due to road conditions.. etc..
its a give and take...

If you ask me you sound really reluctant to install the 20" wheels. I've always been into tuning and yes big wheels on a slammed car looks good, but it's just not practical. It's one thing if the TL is your "fun car", but if it's a daily driver just go for what I call the "oem sport package" look. You can still have the car looking nice without pushing the limits on the drop and the wheels it will just look more like a sport package equipped car and not a tuner car.

I have had lowered cars in the past and I'm not sure if I really want to deal with it. I have had at least 5 lowered cars in the past, some with coil overs others with just springs. Different cars react differently when lowered, the mustangs were horrible with spring and coil overs, it didn't matter both rode hard. I'm not sure what you would call my TL, I have driven it twice in the past three weeks. For maybe a total of 20 miles. I bought a 2010 camry 4 banger for work and I usually drive my SHO when not driving the Camry. My fun car is put away until spring. The TL has been sitting on the side of my house and really needs a wash. I'm still very tempted to throw some twin coilovers onto the TL and drop it an inch. I don't really drive it that much to worry about it.

Brock - Didn't you just buy these rims? Buyer's remorse?? You were also looking at trading in your TL for an F150. Seems like you are all over the board. Maybe sit tight and let the dust settle??

Not buyers remorse, I like the look of the wheels and couldn't pass up the deal I got them for. I can sell them cheap and still male a few bucks. That wasn't my intention at all though, I think I'm going to throw them on in the spring see what it looks like and take it from there.

I believe they only make 20's in that model. He seems to be on 20's but he's really low which is probably why they look small.
