Huge buyer remorse. I am selling my TL SH-AWD.

^ The hit you take depends on a lot of factors. The biggest factor was the price you initially paid for the car and how that relates to the market value. Now that the TLX came out, I suspect the 4g takes a little hit because it's not the current model possibly- especially since the TLX base price is relatively low for the base i-4 model.
If you want to take the least hit, I would highly recommend that you sell the car yourself or have a trusted friend or relative help you. This way you will be able to cut your losses by eliminating the dealer/middle-man's profit.
Sorry for your troubles. I think you new decision to keep the RL is a very sound financial decision. You're young and have lots of time buying more fancy cars in your future. Buying cars every 2-3 years is not the best financial decision- especially when they are new cars.

I am so stress right now because I am taking a huge class load at school and made a huge financial mistake such as this one. I should have listened to my parents and wait till I graduate to buy a new car. I feel like I have failed my parents and myself.
But this mistake is not a total waste. It educated me a lot , such as I need a econo comfort beater for daily driving and a luxury SUV for the weekend, I should not buy a luxury car for a daily driving. From now on, I will pay my car in cash, because financing makes me tend to overspend on the car. So I am saving my bank account for an used 4 -cylinder Camry or an used Avalon if I want a V6 car, and a Acura MDX ( yes I still have faith in Acura) after saving enough money for a nice house.
I just checked the KBB value for the car, it said $25,000 trade in my car to the dealer, but my dealer said $28,000 to take it back. I am going to sell it back this weekend.
Thank you all. I will stick around Acurazine lurking for info and your experiences with Acura cars.

Hey PTVO - I'll chime in again
You mentioned liking the MDX - you should be able to find a 2010-2011 with low miles for what they're offering you on the TL. We just picked up a 2010 Tech with 60K mile for $24K. My GF can't stand the ride in the TL, same complaints you have, but she absolutely adores the MDX seats and ride comfort. I enjoy driving it as well, and it allows my TL to sit in the garage looking sexy until the weekends

But right now I don't have anybody riding with me and my family is working 360 days a year. Thus there is no point buying an SUV now. In addition, I think that 3G MDX is more refined in term of luxury and comfort and mpg comparing to 2G MDX. So I will wait a couple years before buying an SUV. It's more likely a Lexus RX or a 3G MDX.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Perhaps switching rims to 17 or 18's will give you the softer ride you need. Check to see if your RL rims are compatible for a possible test. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Does anybody else have a problem with this whole thread?
A supposedly poor college kid is more than willing to take a $7000.00 loss on his $35,000.00 car, just so he doesn't have to drive his terrible Acura TL?
Is this what we are led to believe?
I think we all just got fished/trolled....

You'll need to sell the car to the dealer at 28K asap. The later, the less likely they can honor the deal.

This is what I was thinking, saw new 17" Acura rims/tires for $1,000 on ebay.

Thank you all.
I handed the keys to the dealer this morning.
I appreciate all of your suggestions and advises.
Acura TL SH-AWD is a great sport car but it doesn't fit me very well since I need a subtle comfortable car for a daily driving.

If your RL 06 is anything like mine (I have 119K miles and expect to at least double that before I think of getting rid of it) it should last a long time and be a great performer. Sorry for your unfortunate situation. Sometimes you have to face the facts and cut your losses. Will be interested to hear how it works out in the future.

Yes, you should not have bought it.
Doesn't sound like $7000.00 is that big of a deal to you though, since you made no effort to sell it on your own.
The interesting part was that you had multiple people on this forum willing to pay more than $28k, yet you did not bother to respond to them.
Interesting.

You live and you learn OP. Sometimes that includes painful (expensive) lessons.
It's part of the reason I'm extremely analytical with most of my purchases. Whether it's a car, TV, Blu Ray player, wheels, tires, etc...I do a ton of research before committing. I actually enjoy that process too though so it's a win-win.
It sucks you had to take such a loss but at least it's behind you now.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I wish I read this 2 years ago before buying my TL.
