You will need to get staggered tips unless you plan on modding the straight one's you are looking at ,check out Corsa clones they range from 3" - 4" with various inlets and are already staggered.

Hi KarKraze, the staggered tips is it the ones that are turned up slightly at the tips, I was thinking to get straight tips. Thanks for your suggestion though. The inlet of the exhaust tips is that the part that has to be weld on?

^^^^ Potmilkz has explained what staggered tips are,and yes the inlet is the part that is welded/clamped on,if you look at the original tip you will notice that one has a slight offset than the other,if you use tips that are equal length it will not flow well with the back bumper/skirt .

Thanks, potmilkz, I wonder which one would look better on the car though, any suggestion is more than welcome.
regard

karkraze, yes I notice that the original tips are staggered. The CT engineering muffler and the ATLP muffler tips are they staggered? these looks good on the car.

Yes they are as well as the xlr8 system,ct engineering tips seem a little too small for the Tl imo but will be the mildest sounding of the aftermarket systems available for our cars.

I did some more research and came upon these. I think they should look good they are 3.5in outlet, 4in outlet might be too big. http://solo-performance.com/exhaust-...um?tip=T601-3R

The bigger diameter looks better because of the openings and you should definitely go with the staggered ones so you follow the contour of the body. Shop around and go to a custom exhaust shop and have them do it just the way you want it. Right!!!!

Does anyone know if the exhaust size of 2.25" in is the same for the base TL? I'm looking for tips. I know most are saying go with 3.5 or 4" out but I want to confirm the in. Also I suppose staggered is the way to go, but what about angle cut? Any webshop purchase links would be much appreciated

I just ordered 2.5" in 4" out staggered. The length is key. If your running stock mufflers anything longer than 9.5" will look silly. To answer your question however I believe its 2.25" out, but a shop will make it work.

Thanks man for your reply. I'm doing it myself, have a full garage so I just wanted to use stock mufflers for now and get something that fits direct, seems to be hard to find staggered tips :/

No problem.
I think this is the best one I could find. as mentioned by members, the tip should have the different length on offset, then it can fit the bumper. this one is also good quality as I feel. when you install just ask to cut a little bit on inlet and do not make it parallel. because when you stand behind your car. you are looking at the rear with angle. say 2016 WRX, stock dual tips, looks too low. so remember to ask them to make it tilt up a little bit when welding

BTW I am not the seller~~~~

I'm lost, I brought a pair of Magnaflow 11225 mufflers and these tips Dual 4" Quad Staggered Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips Fits Acura TL 2004-2014 | eBay to get welded in at a local muffler shop.

They informed me that the muffler is an inch too long and the tips wouldnt be doable without sticking out too far even on the stock mufflers (the tips are 9.5" long at the longest part, they're staggered). How have others made out with these mufflers?

most seem to use STAINLESS STEEL DUAL EXHAUST TIPS 4.0 2.5 ACURA 04-08 TLS . 09-11 TL . 12-14 TL | eBay which from what I can tell are even longer?

Thanks

Check out this page. I think you should look at another shop besides eBay for the tips but also you should ask another shop for a second opinion on install. It sounds like they don't know what they're doing...

I got this tips from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W572U0Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W572U0Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and got them installed with Magnaflow 11225 with no problems, this was 4 weeks ago. I agree on the suggestion of going to a different shop.

How far out do your tips sit past your bumper? Can u upload a pic,he explained that the bend was too tight to use the mufflers and not have the tips sticking out several inches.

A pro exhaust shop can modify however you want it to your liking. The inner part of the tip was perfectly aligned with the lower rear of my bumper(half inch pass give or take) and the outer tip aligned with the right corner of my rear lip kit. Idk if you can see it from this angle but gives you an idea of how it flows with the car. Excuse the dirty pipes this was taken awhile back. Hope this helps.
