B14 Service details
Hello All!
I've searched on this site for a detailed listing of the "B14" service, and I can't find any info beyond getting a new timing belt. Could someone send me a link or post the details of this service? THANK YOU!
I'm contemplating taking my car to the dealership, but would like to comparison shop before I make the appointment.

Some additional B14 item requests.
So B14 service due has come up on my MID and I am setting about to have it done. The specifics of the requirement seem straight forward but I have a couple of questions:
1. it says inspect the water pump but I have seen suggestions in here to replace it. Do the water pumps have a recommended replacement point in miles used? I have just about 100k currently. Is there an economic advantage to replacing this when the timing belt is being replaced?
2. I have also seen in here that the 2 serpentine belts should be replaced but they are not on the list. Thoughts?
3. Is there any place I can go to get ballpark figures on the cost of these services?
The car is a 2011 TL Tech and is entirely stock.
Thank you! -richard

Keeping TL until 2029
I was reading this...
https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-2009-2014-123/service-costs-913864/
It appears they are taking the car apart so it's best to replace both belt and water pump.

Three Wheelin'
Not even close to this service with only 23k miles but if and when the time comes I would replace the water pump and belts for the same reason others have stated.

Burning Brakes
The purpose of the timing belt is to drive the camshaft(s). The timing belt is driven by the crankshaft. I'm not sure about the exact design of the TL engine, but in general, the water pump is driven by the timing belt or driven by a gear that's driven by the timing belt. Replacing a water pump requires all the same steps to disassemble the front of the engine as replacing the timing belt. The water pump usually has a rubber seal in it which keeps the coolant inside the engine. Over time - maybe after 5 years or so, or more - the water pump seal deteriorates and may begin to leak coolant out of the engine. Rather than wait for this to happen, most people elect to change the water pump while the car is apart for the timing belt, even though strictly speaking it is not required at the same time. It is not 100% necessary - maybe a matter of opinion - to do a valve adjustment when the belt is changed but it is a logical and sensible thing to do and most mechanics would probably recommend it. Valve adjustment if done properly is tricky and time consuming since there are 24 of them. If you want to read about the complexity of changing the belt or the pump, look it up in the service manual that was posted by ArtUnique some time ago.

Burning Brakes
BTW, I would never just turn my car over the shop and say "do a B14".
It would be better to discuss the list of services individually and approve specific ones. A lot of that checking of this and that is pretty perfunctory and can be done at any time, by anyone. E.g. "check driveshaft boots". "Check condition of brake lines". "Rotate tires." Why pay $100 an hour for stuff like that?

Bumping this thread since my 2012 TL FWD just got the B14 maintenance minder notification.
I plan to do the oil change/tire rotation myself. And the spark plugs too since I have the tools. Which spark plugs should I use that are pre-gapped? Are they easily reachable? The shops/dealer (reputable ones) are quoting $270 for spark plugs, which I feel is kind of high.
I do plan to take it in for timing belt/water pump/drive belts/hydraulic tensioner ,and coolant replacement. Surprisingly my honda dealer is cheaper than the reputable shop, at $1,060 plus 10% off. Is that reasonable for the service?

The plugs come all pregapped at 0.44 NGK ILZKR7B-11S (5787) or Denso SXU22HCR11S (3461) -
The myth is NGK for Honda , Denso for Toyota - what is strange my car came from the factory with Denso plugs, go figure.
Plugs are not hard - look up the torque specs -according to 2009 manual someone posted
Ignition system Spark plugs 22 N—m (2.2 kgf—m, 16 lbf—ft) - There are couple videos on Youtube, I had to remove a couple things to get at the back one.

Thanks! I had done plugs in my old BMW before so I have the tools. Only thing is to weather the plugs were gapped correctly.
I will do the oil change and plus myself. Then have the dealer do the timing belt, etc. I looked into buying the kit and pay the indy shop to do it. But the price difference isn't that big compared to doing it at the local Honda dealer. Advantage is the warranty.
