Which Acura Grill would you prefer?

Hello,

I truly despise even the latest grill but that is just my opinion of course.

What grill would you prefer of the ones listed for Acura to make their new standard?

A. Floating Emblem 1

B. Floating Emblem 2

C. Beak 1

D. Beak 2

E. Chrome Mesh

F. Refined

G. Flight

H. Robocop

I. Gotham

These are names I chose so you could identify them - they have nothing to do with the real names they are sold under.

While I like the floating emblem 1, I'd be concerned it would make it easy to steal for whatever reason. I also like refined and Robocop.

I remember in 2010, my dealership had 4 TLs and 1 RL with the Chrome Mesh grill installed...it looked awful

While I agree it wouldn't be my first (or second or third or fourth or fifth or sixth...) choice it still looks better to me than the beak. Chicken wire with the logo hanging from a clothes pin would look better than the beak, a 2 x 4 with a bent rusty nail through the emblem would look better than the beak - it is the most hideous part of the current gen TL IMHO (and that says a lot as they screwed up a lot of the styling in other areas too).

I'm not sure why the second floating emblem isn't showing any more but here it is - as you can just barely see there is a black bar behind it.

I'm being biased here but I like the MMC 4G grill the best. The Flight or Type S grill is nice too. I prefer OEM grills over aftermarket though. I'd rather paint match some or all of the grill instead. Such as on pre MMC 4Gs, I'd paint match the outter portion of the great and leave the middle/beak alone like what Carrielynn did to her 4G. Although she did have the middle/beak painted a different kind of silver but kept it OEM looking.

P.S. No offense to the 3G owners (past and present) Maybe just me but the 3G looks really dated.

IMHO the preMMC grill is starting to look "aggressive" on Palladium Metallic (silver). For all other colors, the MMC grill looks OK, but still polarizing, in lieu of the fact people are still having discussion which grills look best.

The only post 2009 grill that looks nice and is generally acceptable is that on the upcoming NSX. IMHO, the upcoming NSX's grill should trickle down to the other models.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess most of the people who voted for the beak - own the car with the beak.

WOW....I am amazed on how many people love the BEAK 2 which is the current TL's integration. Talk about sending a confusing message to Acura....People aren't voting for the 3G grill?!? I am shocked

^^^ LOL this is the grille on the whole Acura line up. The majority has spoken! But I've always liked the pre-MMC grilles to begin with. I was quite shocked though when I first saw them on the road. It was like nothing else (and still is...haha) You either hated it or loved it.

I would have easily gone with the Mugen look of the "Robocop" grill with a different insert ... one that could have looked like the one I had on my CL ... but only if it properly fit.

A weak vote for beak 2 but none of the above should have been a choice. I stuck with the TL for 20 years through the days of everyone's tranny failing, the hard beak and the improved beak but finally gave up and bought a beautiful Infiniti G37 that looks great,, drives great and is fast as hell.
I'll always keep an eye on Acura and Infiniti and am cringing a bit when seeing a fairly radical Q50 on the horizon.

RJ grille w/out the "A" is by far the best, BUT since Acura needs to advertise, one "A" bar option is all acceptable.

The solid background behind the A makes this a little "blingy" but not bad.

Factory grill only. All mesh backed grills look cheap.

Kind of an odd comparison crossing generations but flight for the OEM look.
