Maybe their catching on .... personally, I don't think 3 month trialers probably should be getting this offer (according to their legal department that is). Being nice can go a long way. "winback" suggests we "were" subscribers not "are". My guess is XM's official policy is to NOT offer it to someone with a trial subscription, but to someone who once was a paying customer and has cancelled (e.g. try canceling your cable TV and you suddenly receive 6 months at a reduced rate). Honestly the first rep I spoke with seemed more knowledgeable than the second who signed me up. The trick may be getting someone who is willing do it.

In my case I use to be an XM subscriber, then switched to Sirius -- I was going to mention that if I got another "no". Now I have Sirius in the house and XM in the car (though I wish it was the other way around -- tired of the Sirius repeats after a few hours).

yea it was weird the guy who helped me just flat out said i can give you 3 months for 6.99 but we aren't giving the whole year at that price. I figured might as well take it since I dont know if they totally canceled the full year price.

Called and the person said his computer wouldn't let him enter the code until my trial period expired. He said I should call back right when it expires on the 11th.

Just got it also. Didn't ask the promo code, just if it was for 3 months or a year. Three months was at 6.99 a month but she said that they used to have that promotion but didn't any longer.

This was my third attempt but my first one after my free subscription expired.

My trial period ended at 7AM today while I was driving to work. I just called and got the promo deal.

One suggestion though - don't call their main number like I did (800-XM-RADIO). They didn't have a clue about that promotion. I should have called the 800-929-2100 number first, but I didn't see it until I looked all the way to the end of this thread . The girl that answered (sounded like a teenager) couldn't find anything about the promotion at first, and she even said that she's had several people ask for it. She had a special deal for "RL" owners, but nothing for the TSX. Then she put me on hold and found out a different department that I needed to talk to.

I ended up getting transferred to another department, and they had no problems with it. The base price was $77, they added tax to make it $82-something.

Bottom line - use the 800-929-2100 number, apparently they know what the code means

Juxt Got it...

(First Post)I just called the number above and got the deal. Got my TSX in October, so my trial doesn't end till Jan. She said the deal was normally for people whose service lapses, but she would try it. She said she had no problems with it going through. I'll post again when I get my first bill. Thanks for the info!

Love that TSX-Navi!

I just called to activate my XM. $77 for a year is a great deal. It took about 2 minutes to activate and the customer service rep. said that they would waive the activation fee. I just let her know that I saw on a forum that there is a "winback" promotion that I heard about and that was all it took.

In my opinion, guys (and gals) I'd be careful about mentioning that you saw the promo on a forum. You don't want XM to catch on and eventually not honor the deal. I'd just mention that the dealer told you about it. That's just my opinion

I just got it using the 1-800-929-2100 number. My trial period was up on the 21st although it worked until Thanksgiving Day. The first time I called, my rep was a bit surly and said that the promotion has to be offered to you via mail or e-mail, you can't just call up and ask for it. I told her never mind and I called back the next morning. At first, this rep said the same thing but then she put me on hold for a second and came back and said that her supervisor had okayed it. $77 for a year + tax.

wow, i called. and i just gave him my name and he instantly knew my address and phone number and radio codes. i did not even have to give him the code.

i said winback promotion through acura. he asked for my credit card, and i was done in like 2 minutes. i guess it starts right when the trial ends.

excellent, satelite radio rocks.

Yep, promotion still works.
I called the 1800 xm radio #. I told the lady that someone called me and offered the "winback" promotion. She transferred me to another dept (which was probably the other 800#).
The new lady said that the promotion was good for 3 months and i told her i wanted to lock it in for the full year. She said ok. So... good to go.

Since my trial has expired, my phone rang off the hook from XM people calling me and offering my the promotion. So... as someone earlier said before "winback" is just what it means. It's to get the customer back. That's why they have to wait until your trial is over.

New XM promotion

I just called to ask about getting the WINBACK promotion and they told me it was no longer going on, but they had a new promotion that was 3 months for $14.95 so I took that. I wish I could have locked in the whole year, but I'm willing to bet if I call back in 3 months and tell them I'll cancel, they'll continue it.
Seems like XM just sort of gives whatever promotion they feel like at the time.

called about 2 weeks ago, used the # and code from this board (thanks). the first call got me a woman that told me that i could not get the promo and that it would have to be for full price. I tried to persuade her to give it to me but she was adamant about saving XM some money. (she of course got a huge promotion to vice-president)

i then hung up, called right back, got someone else and she told me "sure" and i was on my way to a full year at $77. (after my 3 mo trial ends in Jan, of course)

I shouldve asked her to ring it up for the full 5 yr lease, but hind-sight is 20/20

TSX + satellite = rules!!!

On the phone right now and worked well on the second try. Just say you saw the offer at the dealership instead of this forum and that should help. The promo code wasn't even necessary.

Can you get the promotional discount even if you don't have a factory-installed "trial subscription"? In other words, if I go out and buy a Roady2, etc. can I call in with the "Winback" code and get a lower-cost subscription?

Thanks!

and that was it.

Looks like the code is Z1BACK (if I've heard it right). And don't mention the price of $77 before they say it - there's a chance getting 1 year free
Not promising anything, maybe that flirty girl was just very nice to me

Meant to post at the beginning of the month... XM promotion still worked for me --- $77 for the year... I didn't even have to give a code, and the service rep was very friendly. Don't settle for anything less. If you don't get the offer, I'd hang up and call back to talk to another operator.

Just finished installing and activating a new Roady2 ($14.99 at Staples!!! woohoo!) in my 2004 TSX AT.

I called the 800-929-2100 number, mentioned the winback promotional flyer, and after a few questions about my radio ID, name, contact info, etc., I got signed up for $77 until 12/21/06!

The Roady2 rests perfectly on top of the "Not an Ashtray", too. The only thing I found was that the FM modulation didn't work very well, so I ended up hooking the Roady up to a SNHOND3 adapter that I'd previously been using for an iPod.

It should be already set for the 90 day free trial. You will need the XM promotion aftery your free trial runs out.

Thanks - in fact, it was indeed working when I got the car today. Given the lousy selection of stations here in Jacksonville, I'm sure I'll become a steady subscriber. I especially like the idea of the Unsigned channel. I have some music uploaded to Download.com under Last Rites (from San Francisco) and Rex Mundi and the World Leaders....

my subscription just ran out this week, and i stumbled upon this thread. i just called up XM, and got two of the worst english-speaking people EVER. i told them that my dealer said it was something along the lines of $6.99/month for a full year, and she said no, it's only good for three months. then she put me on hold for 20 seconds, came back, and asked me for a promotion code. i responded, and she put me on hold again, came back, and said "sorry, we cannot do $6.99/month, but we can do $77 for one year." uh, that's like 60 cents a month cheaper, but sure? needless to say, i felt a bit uneasy giving her my credit card info and stuff, but maybe that's just me being paranoid.

XM for another year.......not bad, but i wish i had Sirius

I used Roady 2 before and just chose the FM transmitter function... as you guys can imagine, reception sucks... LA has just too many cars for good clear transmission from Roady 2 to my car stereo, but i dont really want to rearrange all electronics and install more stuff... has anyone used other xm receiver that just transmit signal via fm radio and still clear? ..

OK, I also did the WINBACK promotion for $77/year for one year, but I did it a year ago. I just got a letter from XM saying my subscirption will be up soon.

Has anyone hotten a SECOND year at the $77 rate?
