Another clue would be if this happens at rest or at highway speeds. In the case of SpoiledKari's 2006 model, the ICON style wiper assemblies should "push" the down to the windshield a little at 55MPH. Perhaps not enough, though, if the wiper arm is faulty.

Those with the problem, let us know if this happens at rest, at high speed, or both....

mine happens at rest, at speed, while using the washer spray, when it rains

Can I ask how this was fixed? I am experiencing the same issue. I replaced my wipers with ICON and it's missing a 12" x 12" spot right smack in the middle of the windshield. I replaced those with Bosch Excel and same issue. Very frustrating.

Just a new Honda Insight pull up to the service dept. Monday while having my TSX serviced. Lo and behold, the Acura-like ICON-style wipers on the windshield. So replacement blades may become easier and cheaper to purchase (IF they're the same length).

I changed his text.

Dunno what your problem is, either the wipers aren't making full contact, or they need adjustment. Maybe the spring on the wiper arm? What year TSX do you have?

I have an '06. The weird thing is that I have replaced with the same make/model wipers a few times. All of a sudden they won't make contact with the windshield. I'm about to try my third brand. Frustrating.

I don't know why you aren't using the Acura ICON style wiper assemblies, then. They work great on mine, and it costs < $12 to replace the blades (mail order from an online Acura parts dealer).

I would try the Acura wipers and see if that resolves the problem (maybe the aftermarkets aren't working with the way your wiper arm is adjusted). Or have the wiper arm checked/adjusted.

Does anyone have a picture of the factory blades? I'm not sure if what mine has on it is the original blades? Thanks.

I had this problem on my 07. I bought it new and had the oem blades on. I went to the dealership about 7 or 8 months later and complained. They replaced the entire wiper on both sides, blades & arms, and told me it was a common complaint. Haven't had a problem since. They said the actual wiper arms were slightly off (not angled correct) and that was causing the blade to miss.
They did try new blades at the dealership (didn't help) before replacing everything.

update, i just made it about 90% BETTER. I took the metal arm and bent very slightly. It puts more pressure on the end of the arm now. I will try a little more bend to get it 100%

did you make sure the blade is sitting above that little metal part of the driver side of the arm?? if you put it underneath it by accident the blade won't curve properly and you will miss a lot. the same thing happened when i switched to rainx latitudes, but i noticed during installation and put them on properly.

FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! I struggled with this, tried bensing the arms, was even about to buy the 06 arms for like 100 bucks, but at the end, its that stupid little clip! Its like a clip on the left side of the driver wiper. When the wiper goes up it may wipe sometimes, but when it comes down, it leaves a huge patch cause newer style "reflex" type blades dont really fit in it, so it hold it on an awkward angle causing uneven pressure on one Side of the wiper.

SOLUTION: unscrew the little clip/holder and get a new wiper ( since the other one is worn unevenly. Worked for me after owning my 04 nbp a spec for about 10 months! Tell me how it goes for all of you!!

Hey guys - Dominivacano was 100% correct.

I've had my '05 TSX for nearly 9 years and just dealt with the crappy wipers. I've consistently purchased the most expensive blades I could find hoping it would fix the problem, but everytime it rained/snowed there'd be a large swath of unwashed windshield. And I live north of Boston... so basically I'm an enormous idiot for waiting this long.

I took the 45 seconds to remove the "little clip/holder" with a phillips head, and it works like it's supposed to... and I didn't even have to replace the wiper. Upsettingly hilarious. Photo of the "little clip/holder" attached.

Holy crap thank you! Replaced my wipers on a '05 TSX with some Bosch ICON's and was going nuts cause of the little spot left over on the return stroke. Was getting ready to try to return them or buy another brand. Popped out the little piece and saw on the wiper where it was rubbing. Works perfectly now, no more streaks.

After reading this thread, I ordered an OEM driver's side wiper for my woman's '06 TSX. This joker's curved like a cartoon villain's mustache!
2006 TSX driver's side wiper, or cartoon villain's mustache!? You decide!

Whatcha talkin' bout Willis?

I have had zero issues with RainX wipers (but I live in Cali where it only rains during the fall and winter -- if we're lucky). Love 'em

All I can say is that my woman had, for several years, the infamous lower windshield gap, but installing the OEM wiper shit corrected it.
