What kind of oil does everyone use in their TL's? Please specify is you have a 2.5 or a 3.2

ive been using 10w-30 (4 quarts) with 1 quart of rislone and it runs perfect. rislone did make a noticeable improvement. i have a 1997 tl 2.5

Pennz 10w-30. Every 5K like Kamlung and I have 118K on my '97 3.2. Will burn some oil in the summer, but never a full quart.

I use Walmart Techlube 5w-30. Wonderful stuff! I change quarterly or 5000 miles whichever comes first,... most of the time. Never had any problems.

Oil is like milk. Anything better than average is wasted on the car.

5w30 Every 5K, synthetic blend, and will switch to full synthetic on the next round, but do it every 10K!

Normally about $40 including filter. They've jacked up the price now, though, and I believe it's almost $8/qt. My last 5 quarts were at $5/qt because of a discount I received, and this is still nothing compared to the $10/qt (my cost way back when) GR-2 oil I used to run. I've seen that oil go for almost $20/qt. on eBay!! Every oil change was $60+, plus I used to change plugs VERY often. On my Accord, I remember after hitting my oil pan right behind the drain plug, I technically did three oil changes a day until I got a new one! Thinking back, that was such a waste of ENEOS oil...

Since I forgot to post model details, I'll repost the info for the OP again:

1996 3.5L Royal Purple 5w-30 w/Bosch filter, changed at 2500 mile intervals. Currently, I've got about 4K on this change, though, because of a nasty combo of time and budget constraints, haha.

Synthetic blends are a rip! They can, and do, call it a synthetic blend even if only 5% is synthetic. One of my friends blends his own Castrol oil, and he makes a 70/30 mix, IIRC, with the former being GTX and the latter being Syntec. Why he bothers, I don't know, but it works for him.

Note to Mobil 1 users:
IIRC, Mobil 1 changed their synthetic oil base to something cheaper, and the only oil from them that is still using the original base is the synthetic high mileage. Which one in particular I can't recall, but this is what I remember being told about a year ago.

P.S. OT, but something similar happened to Chevron gas after they bought Texaco, . The Techron formula was changed, and while I swore by the old formula, the current one gives me horrible mileage and less power.

Pennzoil 5W-30, every three months or 3,000 miles. 96 3.2, 158,000 miles.

By the way, I just had my oil changed this week. On the receipt it shows my last 7 oil changes with dates & mileage. I have driven only 6,500 miles in the last 12 months. I got a new position with my company so i don't have to go into the office very often. I love it.

I use Royal Purple 5w-30

It costs about $7.50 a qt.
so about $40 for the oil.
and another $20 to have Acura use an OEM filter and do the work.
so $60 total for the change.
I change at about every 5k miles.
