Have a 1996 acura rl, and the code from the check engine light is for the egr Valve. Does anyone know if the warranty is still valid?

the EGR is a relatively common problem on these cars and I doubt any sort of warranty would be valid on a 1996. It doesnt hurt to call your dealership and ask but Id hazard a guess and say the answer is almost certainly going to be no.

Edit; my mistake, I did some research and it looks like theres still a chance It will be covered since the car is a 1996. I would call your dealership and if they cant give you an answer I would call acura directly. The car is over the age limit and probably the mileage limit but it doesnt hurt to try.

20 years??? don't think so man..


I would just take it apart and clean it, check to see if carbon is stuck in it or just go buy it out of pocket. Don't forget the gasket as well.
