Just Purchased A 2007 RDX Tech

Proud new owner of an 07 RDX tech. It has 155k on the clock, but has been very well kept. Only mods are a-spec wheels, led interior lighting and hid fogs. Did lots of research before deciding on this car. Hopefully I'll enjoy it as much in person as I do on paper.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Your RDX is a beauty, I think silver is the best color on the rdx. Looks gorgeous! Also loving the wheels!

Congrats! I really like the optional wheels. I'm also impressed at the number of high mileage RDXs out there that still look great. Good news!

There was a time that no one would touch a car with 100K miles on it for anything except junk status of $1500. How much does a 2007 RDX with 155k miles on go for anyway? How many miles do we expect to get on this turbo before any major problems? BTW - with a 2011, I am at 43.5K miles, so a long way to go. Thanks!

I see them regularly in the 150-180k mi range when I browse Autotrader. With routine maintenance, I suspect most of them are easily going to make and surpass this.

^^Just hit 50k myself on my 2008.

I'm at 125,000 miles with Hondata+ETS intercooler on my RDX. I still don't use any oil between changes. It still drives and looks like the day I purchased her in 2010 at 30,000 miles other than the normal creaks/rattles caused by the tight suspension. I can see myself taking her to the 200,000 mile mark with tires being the biggest expense.

I'm at 144,000 miles with my RDX and the only big ticket item I did recently was the ac compressor which was $400 with a recharge. I've replaced the driver visor, the infamous armrest, and hid bulb. Do need tires soon and the rear main seal. Other than that, it's been a blast to drive and I plan on keeping it until I have to upgrade to something bigger.

How much did the rear main seal cost you? This is the first time I have heard of this. Sorry that it had to happen to you, but glad it is very rare.

I haven't take the rear main seal to be fixed yet. My mechanic quoted a $400 job. I just monitor my oil level.

Wow thats nothing, cheap repair costs at the back of the motor are one huge bonus of inline 4 engines.

Just for reference I got mine for $9250. Kbb was lower, but I do my pricing based in NADA so I was content with the price. Came with snows and almost new all seasons as well. Did notice my first thing to work on. The blend door needs a lube job. Thankfully that's an easy one.

The flap for the air system in the driver's foot well. Blend door is just a term I still have in my head from my Saab days.

The driver side HVAC groan? Ya, it's easy, especially if you are small.

Wish I was smaller. 6 foot, 220 lbs. Working under the steering wheel has never been simple for me. I usually lay the seat all the way back and lay on my back with my head under the dash. Definitely get some weird looks from people walking by.

I've had 2. First was a red 9000 aero and the second was a 9-5 aero. I do miss them both, but don't miss the constant fear of something breaking. I got an electric focus to replace the 9-5 for a few years just so I wouldn't have to work on anything for a while.

God I love the 9-5, such a timeless elegance to it. But yeah reliability was a nightmare. Its a sweet tuner car. Too bad.
