AC doesn't work when hot
My AC wouldn't work when it was 98 or hotter outside. After research and calling ACURA, it sounded like it was either relay or coil/clutch. We tested the relay and it appears not to be the problem. My brother is a mechanic at Mazda and replaced the coil/clutch compressor. Now, it doesn't work when it was 88 outside And blows hot air. The entire rest of the system tested fine and freon level was great. However- it's now worse than it was!! What else could be the issue?

Had the same issue. Replaced the relay but no luck. Didn't go as far as coil/clutch compressor. Took it into my mechanic and they saw an obvious leak coming from the condensor. Replaced and recharged and now works well.

I believe they checked for leaks and nothing - the change in freon taken out and put back in was super minimal- not even with a mention.

I was battling the same issue, relay replaced, but did not help.
Finally, dealer replaced A/C clutch coils (expensive, $700), and it works great.
If its not relay, its a clutch coils on compressor, they are common cause for this problem.
