It's all your fault.

I'm done after the LEDs.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the LED "combination lights" (what Honda calls the front non pop-up lights), so I'm probably buying JDM clears instead, awaiting the next run.

If I had a nickel for everytime I heard someone say "I'm done" when it comes to modding I'd be living on my own island.

What I meant to say was,

"I'm done for THIS YEAR after the LEDs".

Right now, I'm just enjoying the heck out of the car.

Tail light conversion kit is incoming. I expect to have it in the next week. It'll be another couple of weeks before I tackle the conversion as it's a big project to take apart the old lights.

taking them apart isn't too bad. Threw mine in the oven for a few minutes and they came right apart.

@p.diddy Cool idea. How hot was the oven, and how long did you keep the light in? I was going to use Arc-Light's idea of near-boiling water in a pan, heat for 15 miutes, then take apart, but putting them in the oven sounds much easier and is less messy. I have one brand new tail and another fairly recently manufactured tail to use for the conversion, so the adhesive on the tails shouldn't be hard to heat up.

I've heard on another forum, something like 250* at 10min increments. But don't know on the NSX tails.

200 for 10-15 mins or as long as needed. I put it on the top shelf on top of a towel. just make sure the tails aren't touching the sides. after I took them out the with minimal prying with a flat head screw driver it came right apart. just be careful not to crack the lense when doing so. once apart you may need to put the sides back in for a few minutes to soften it again to get all the residual sealant out of the tails to replace with new sealant. once I was done I put the sealant in on one side, heated it back up in the oven took it out and put the other side back on with clamps and let it set for a day to make sure it was fully sealed before I installed.

Still working on my LED tails. I think I have the install figured out. We'll see this weekend. In the meantime, here's a pic I took over the weekend.....because both the NSX and Cleveland rock.

PS--my preferred dealer (jokingly, I hope ) tried to get me to consider a new NSX over the weekend. If I sell this one and my V wagon, I can probably swing at least low payments in financing a new NSX. But that's not in my financial plan for quite a while.

New NSX << 1G NSX + 6MT Vagon

Although... If you sell the Vagon, I bet RS143 will be happy to buy it. He likes buying the same car multiple times.

As it happens, I like the new NSX. Not as much as my NA2, but I like it.

I don't think it will be a classic like a 6MT V wagon, or even the 1G NSX, which was TBH underappreciated until the last five years.

After install of Arc-Light Lumi v2.0 LEDs and a near-accident on slick roads near yesterday's Cleveland Cars and Coffee. I was exiting the freeway and at the end of the decreasing radius turn, I started to accelerate....and the car started to fishtail. To my left was a short curb with tall, wide, plastic markers. The car struck the markers slightly and I was able to correct in a second. There were some marks on the driver's side of the car, but they all rubbed out in seconds and there are no visible marks other than a new ding on the driver's side rear wheel. Disaster avoided by CPR.

Pics taken with my "good camera", my Canon T4i; pictures are unretouched.

Safe and sound home. Good thing I've done two HPDEs, else the car would have significant damage. CPR (correct-pause-recover) is useful in real-world conditions!

Parking lights on

Caught in mid-flash with the amber turn signals

I took the driver's side light out today to send to Arc-Light because of the single LED being out. He offered without my even asking. Very good service. The unlit LED was likely from my noobish install and not reflective of the product. I love these lights in that they modernize the NSX tastefully. Front LED conversion is planned.

Does the turn signal just blink on/off or does it sort of pulse from the inside to outboard?

They look very '80's, which IMO, fits the 1G NSX perfectly!

It pulses from in to out. It's programmable to just lash, though. I rather like the retro style, and it's lots more visible than the stockers.

Rear LED came back repaired and now looks perfect.

Front parking ("position") lights removed and sent off two days ago for LED replacement. The replacement is in post #280 (page 7). The position lights were faded and prior to the LEDs entering my life, I was going to purchase JDM clear parking lights, anyway.

It's got no eyes! (bad iPhone pic in the dark......)

In the meantime, I haven't driven the NSX in over a week, and it'll be until after Labor Day before I can get behind the wheel again. I'm slummin' it in the CTS-V wagon, so life is still really pretty decent. . #firstworldproblems

Registered for NSXPO today! I am looking forward to the 15-hour drive to Orlando in the NSX. If I can handle the seven hours on the first trip from NJ to Cleveland in those comfy seats, I should be able to handle twice that.

Still awaiting completion of the front LEDs. After that, I just need to figure out which LED headlight kit to go for. I also sourced a used steering wheel to use as the base for refurbishment.

Oh, whenever will this modding end?

Bob...
gimme a break.
Never!

Oh, and I drove my S2000 today for the first time since getting the V. And I thought of you.
One really defines the other and I enjoyed the drive in the S a lot more than I have in a LONG time.

Now you get it. The S and the V are special in their own way. I still miss my S2000 so badly. I will have another someday. You don't need big torque to have fun driving!

I got on the wait list after the (very rapid) initial sell-out a few weeks ago. I was contacted today about an open spot; they were offered in order of signing up on the wait list. I immediately jumped at the chance to drive my NSX 1050 miles each way to Orlando. Can't wait! Are you going?

Extremely true...one defines the other...
had a blast just shifting smoothly down low...not even redlining or anything.
It's that though, with the TL and S2000 combination, the drive was not identical, but the visceral feeling was very similar...so it always felt fine to drive either...but now, having such a dichotomy, I REALLY look
forward to driving one, or the other.

You're a smart man, Charlie Brown.

Have aftermarket LED headlight retrofits come along well enough to be worth it? It's been a while since I've looked. Last I'd seen they were still pretty inferior to HID retrofits.
What kits are you looking at? I'd like to upgrade the lighting in our Flex.

Still researching. In the meantime, I now have LED front bumper lights and tail lights. I plan to switch out all the accessory bulbs to LED shortly. So far, so good.

No offense taken. These are easier to see at night, and in a tiny car like the NSX, any advantage I can find to improve visibility is good. The flashers are programmable, and I'm planning to change at least the fronts (and probably the rears) to just regular flashes.
