1992 Acura NSX with only 2209 Miles
Was looking for a low mileage NSX and ran across this.
I know this car has only 2K miles but is it really worth $77K? Seems a bit overpriced.
From the article:
Clean Acura NSX cars are hard to come by but one with only 2209 Miles is like finding a unicorn, this black 1992 Acura NSX is just that super rare clean with almost showroom new miles. This is perhaps the cleanest NSX we have seen to date. The 77K asking price is a little steep but that should not be an issue for a collector, and this car should only go up in price anyway.

Wasn't this NSX had tire wear every 3,000 miles? The following is the excerpt taken from the NY Times:
Acura Tire Wear Comes Under Fire

The Acura NSX is hardly your typical car. An aluminum-bodied rear-wheel-drive sports car with a 270-horsepower engine, it lists for $65,000, can hold the road at 140 miles an hour and was acclaimed at its introduction in 1990 as a marvel of Japanese automotive technology.
But its tire wear has been far from typical, as well. In some cases, the rear tires have been found bald of tread after 3,000 miles.
"Imagine having to pull into a service station every few months, saying, 'Change the tires and check the oil,' " said Ronald Koksal, a lawyer who is suing the American Honda Motor Company, which distributes the Acura line in the United States, on behalf of a NSX owner injured when his car spun on a wet road and collided with another vehicle.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an inquiry into why the rear tires on some NSX's are wearing out so quickly, the first time the Government has directly looked into tire wear.

It probably did more harm then good to the car by letting it park all these years.
It probably worth Million$ if it park for the next 40 years.

On the cable show last night," What's my car worth?" there was a yellow one with super low miles on it,and it went for I believe $55k. They said what held it back was that it had aftermarket wheels, and a couple of other little things.
They said that the market is just starting to come around on the NSX.
I think they look really cool!

True searching for NSXs for sale I have noticed that the prices being asked are creeping up. If you are wanting to buy one now would be the time. I have been offered more for what I paid for my car on trade in. Don't worry I have no plans on trading or selling my NSX.

Heh, this is not a car you drive. Well MAYBE take it out once or twice a year to a show or meet or on a VERY special occasion. (Even then maybe just trailer it to the destination, lol)
Because looking at how clean that is and how low mileage, this becomes an investment asset. Any driving of it or god forbid modding it would start depreciating the value.
Ironic since cars were meant to be driven. But a collector who buys this will only look to increase his collection's asset value probably.
With a collector's car like this, (aka Jay Leno, Ralph Lauren, et. al.) you'll need to probably hire a company to have the car stored/conditioned/maintained properly while it's in long-term storage. When you are not planning to use it, they probably don't have it sit on the tires and certain fluids may be drained and whatnot. Because cars like these are not going to be driven very often at all. Maybe trailered to shows/exhibits a handful or less times a year.
I'm not sure if an average Joe can upkeep with the long-term storage effort/cost of cars like this. Because if you start driving this regularly or even start modding it the value of this asset as an original, super mint classic supercar will immediately go down. So likely only collectors with deep pockets will be interested.

problem with this car besides that it wasnt driven much (fluids are stale) is that if you were to buy it, you wouldnt want to drive her much to keep value high. only for someone who is collecting and not looking to enjoy
