The time has come...
...for me to part ways with my CL. I have owned her for over 7 years and put over 125,000 miles on her, and it has been an excellent car over the years. However, the check engine light came on this weekend. I took her to the dealer (as I have yet to find a good shop, and I needed a loaner) and the list of stuff on the car that needed fixing was staggering. Like, $3,598 staggering. Suffice it to say, my 16 year old car with 180,000 miles is NOT worth that amount of money. The engine still runs strong, but I just do not want to pump that kind of money into a car I think is worth $1,500 at best. It was a great car to me over the past 7 years and I will miss it dearly.
Attached are pics I took for the craigslist ad yesterday. One of those "we buy junk cars" firms is likely going to buy it tomorrow for cash. In the mean time, I will be driving Frank the Tank, a 2001 Toyota Avalon with 265,000 miles.
Thanks for everyone's advice over the years.

I am quite aware of that, yes. I haven't lived in Arizona long, thus have not found a good mechanic like I had in New Jersey. I have taken it to other shops and felt like I got ripped off there, so might as well get ripped off by the dealer and get a free TLX to drive for a few days, until I find a good mechanic.
The CL may look alright on the outside, but like any stripper, there are some issues on the inside. The power steering rack and pump are both leaking, the right axle boot needs replacing, the brakes are close to replacing, as are the tires, among other things. I have 2 cars right now and have been looking for an excuse to sell one. Also, the A/C doesn't blow very cold, which really sucks when its 118 degrees outside. I just don't feel like pumping money into it, I'd rather save it and use it later for a new car.
