ODB Monitor Reset After Battery Change

Hey guys!

So I replaced my battery around the end of May (this year) and failed smog this weekend due to 2 monitors failing ODB System checks. Being in super strict California, we're only allowed to fail 1 monitor (according to the guy doing the smog). Do you know how long it takes mileage/time table for all the monitors to be fully reset after a battery disconnect? I've driven ~500 miles at least since then.

My reg is due in 2 wks so if, for whatever reason, it doesn't pass, anyone have any idea what options I would have? I'd hate to be stuck in a scenario where I can't pass smog because I need to drive it more but can't drive it more because I couldn't get my new tags.

Thanks!

The mileage sounds like enough to me. Has it been a decent mix of city/ highway, a/c on, full load on electrical system, coasting? If you google it theres also specific procedures you could try following. I used to disconnect the battery to reset the CEL all the time until I actually fixed my CEL problem. Once i got a new cat and reset the light the ecu was ready to test with just normal driving and some time.

that's odd.. usually 30-50 miles should ready the monitors.. If i were you, I would unplug the battery, plug back in, and drive another 30-50 miles. My OBD scanner lets you know when the monitors are set. Might be worth investing in one/borrowing from a friend prior to the next smog test

It's been a mix of city driving, freeway driving, coasting, WOT, AC/radio. If I'm planning on getting the car re-tested again this Saturday, would it be enough time if I disconnected the battery today?
