A-CL Post Whore w/N2O
I "borrowed" these images from www.acuraautomotiveparts.net .
Looks like you need to check and see that you have the 2 wiring harnesses hanging from each seat (in the pic--parts numbered 4, 7, 26, and 29). These are the actual heaters that should be built into the seats. These connectors will need to plug into a preexisting wire harness (which may already be in your car) which runs to the console. If there are no wires running from the seat area to the console, you may need to install a harness (go to the dealer and ask them what part number it is).
The switches for your '99 model are number 17 (in the pic below). You need 2 of them. My guess is that there is a harness already in place. If you pry up the little plastic covers that are covering the place where the switches are mounted, there should already be a plug for each. If not, then you'll need to install the harness that I mentioned above.

Do you have a 3.0? Do you have leather? Are you asking if you have heated seats or not? If you don't have the double button switch then you don't have heated seats

Drifting
i think he's trying to find out if the seat itself has the heater in it, and from there, how to make it work in a car that doesn't currently have the heated seat option...

I don't think the heater element comes if you don't have that option

sorry guys
let me try this again
I have a 3.0CL with leather seats (which are heated)
I have had the car for less than a year... on my car, on both seats, only the back heats, the seat does not..
I notice in the picture above there appear to be heating elements where you sit AS WELL AS on the back rest.
So my question is ... am i looking at it correctly? does it heat the seat and the back rest? or just the back rest.
if it does both my seats need repair i guess =\..

Been several years since I drove my car in winter and used the heated seats, but I thought they were only in the bottom part that you sit on

Both.
but for some reason, only the back of the driver heats and the seat of the passenger heats..
That was before I swapped my drivers seat track. Now both work on the driver but still only the seat of the passenger heats up.. I think it has something to do with the seat warmer relay that is on the power seat track itself because the wires on the old seat track/seat warmer relay looked screwed up. I'm the guy you should talk to when it comes to CL seats...

OK
I called a place locally that does heated seat repair.. they said about 240 per seat..
Here's my main problem.. My driver's side heating has stopped working entirely. I spilt tea on my seat (like half a cup?) and now the heated seat (back part, which is all that worked before) has stopped working.. I'm thinking it's related since it was around the same time...
Any idea what could have gone wrong? It didnt seem like enough liquid to seap through the seat and fry something... The light still comes on when i press the button to turn the heating on... The seats fuse in the kick panel is fine.. the power seat works as far as moving back and forth etc.. its just the actual heating thats stopped...

When i first got my car the heater for the seats worked fine. I read the posts above and it seems like mine wasn't working right either. The bottom(Ass lol) heats up but not the back. Same goes with the passenger. I recently took it to a mechanic who got under the wheel and I believe he did something with the fuse box. Not to mention that he had replaced my Shifter Cable. He kept the car overnight and the next day when I went to pick it up my seat warmers didn't work at all. I just finished repaving the fuses inside and the single fuse in the engine bay

i think this is an old thread but i recently figured out what was wrong with heated seats. The cables where not connected to the buttons. I connected them and then i tried them and the driver side bulb worked. the passenger side bulb didn't. I switched them and i tried it again and i found out that the bulb on one was out. Its a small one (Didn't have a ruler or something) But i took some pics.
Also does the bulb have anything with the switch not working? or the bulb is just there for lighting the button.
I am looking online for a bulb if anyone can help me out with the dimensions.
